Foolowed the DIY guide and changed my oil today from magnatec that was put in at the 12000 mile service 7 months ago and with Mobil 1 w0-40. Perhaps its psychological, but it does seem to idle more quietly and generally run smoother, but either way Im glad I did it.
Everything was quick and...
Ive used Autglym resin polish, turtle wax extreme, turtle wax emerald series and meguiars cleaner wax. To be honest, I cant really notice much of a difference between the products. The extreme wax beads water for a long time after application, the emerald series last a bit longer than that...
I swapped my wheels front to rear at 8000 miles and changed all 4 at 16000 miles when all 4 tyres where evenly worn. Didnt notice any detrimental effects by doing this. I did this because I didnt want to have 2 makes of tyres with one set older than the other on the car. I did this using the...
Yeah my car is a bit slower on hot days, due to the fact I have the air con usually. Had a quick blast with a 3.0 Z3 from standstill, and he did put about 2 car lenghts ahead by the time we reached 100. Must make a mental note to switch off the air con when ragging it.
I got the same when I put in normal 95ron unleaded mixed with half a tank of optimax this weekend cos I couldnt find a shell station. Only ever use optimax since I got the car from new. Going straight back to optimax when its nearly empty.

I use a tooth brush on the trim (especially the rough black trim around the fog lights, door mirrors, etc) to remove the residue and then use back to black. Thats the only way it works for me. Using the back to black stuff over the residue just seals it in I find.
Im not saying that understeer will occur more than the standard setup. Given the same bend taken at the same speed, the eibach setup is more composed and you have the option of taking it at a higher speed. It just the back is less likely to step out to help you round the bend. So yes the...
Yes there is slightly more understeer, however, overall, the ride is better, theres less body roll, more stability on fast bends, turn in is more sharper. might try and increase the pressure on the rears to see if that will reduce the understeer, trade off is there may be more tyre wear and may...
I too see alot more CTRs in the Hertforshire area. Obviously, a good car otherwise people wouldnt buy them. Before I bought the Clio, I had the choice of getting a CTR, but for the money the Clio was better value and there wasnt a huge difference in performance. Plus insurance is cheaper for...
Ive found that since lowered with eibachs, the balance has shifted towards a little bit more understeer than before as the rears just grip perhaps due to less body roll, where as before it was abit more neutrally balanced. Ive yet to unstick the rear, even when atempting brutish lift off...
