hi lads,
gave the BG182 a good wash, put 4 new PS3's on it and went to Mt Ventoux with the lady
excellent weather on the morning, was a bit cloudy afterwards. there was still some snow on the north face !
met some Renault Sport ancestors on the way down and some nice oldies too like the Chevy...
what about this : http://www.petrolicious.com/he-found-his-dad-s-porsche-993-sold-years-earlier-online
the guy bought it back 5 years later for twice the price...
thanks guys, your answers make sense.
suspensions top mounts, dampers and bushes work was done last year, the car drives much better now.
i might eventually get both but for now it's one or the other.
still not sure about aftermarket coilovers, i would need to test drive a car equipped with...
lol might talk about OEM parts in another thread, there's a recent article on PH about this
anyway the Sachs are way overpriced but have been developed with the Renault Sport guys for the 182 while Eibach, Koni, K&R etc parts haven't.
Sir_Dave your thoughts are helphul, basically the Recaros...
Hi guys,
i can get used recaro mounts and seats for 850£ and the sachs dampers are available new for 1250£ in France.
i guess it's all personal and i crave for the recaros but i'm afraid it won't give me any driving added value. From what i've read they sit 10mm lower than the standard seats...
Hi lads,
Despite living an hour and a half away, I didn't have a chance to go to Mt Ventoux since last year (see last year's thread)
Well the autumn soltsice was a kind of motivation so we left home at 6 in the morning to be on top for the sunrise. There are three roads going to the summit ...
Good to hear you enjoyed the area.
I live 2 hours south but it was the first time I could decently have fun w/ the 182. la vallee du Toulourenc is north of Mt Ventoux, it's the D40 between Vaison-la-Romaine and Montbrun-les-bains. It's almost flat and straight but it's narrow and blends great...
you've got it spot on mate, the Col du Turini is definitely on my agenda (was there for the '11 Monte Carlo rally) and the gorges du Verdon hold some epic misty and rainy driving adventures too. Did you have a chance to try the vallee du Toulourenc, just shy north of Ventoux ?
Hi lads,
I thought I'd share with you my journey to the Mt Ventoux with the BG 182. For those who don't know about it yet, it's a mountain near Orange in the south of France that is famous since it's visited by the Tour de France since 1951. It's also the scene of historical rallyes and...
Call me whatever you like but when i bought the car i promised myself to keep it standard.
this does not include the Recaro bucket seats that were optional at the time though...
Actually it's a good point, the car was fairly clean but on close paint inspection, it really needs a good shine & wax.
Nonetheless, it's always showing great reflections on pictures, I'm always amazed at this BG color.
How can you find great roads near your place ? Check the rally stages around. As an added bonus, there will be large black paintings on the braking areas showing you the good line and the really-need-to-brake-hard-this-time corners. Out of one hairpin there were also wheel spin traces 20 meters...
After being able to drift Ford C-MAX on wet roundabouts (I mean holding the slide), lapping an Exige S and a 997 Carrera 4S on track (6 laps each but good fun) and owning a company car I could use for everyday and with my other half looking for a new car, I started considering an affordable...
After changing rear pads and brake fluid to DOT5, the brakes are much better, progressive and fading resistant (though the pedal gets softer after 30mn or so of inspired driving).
I didn't know the roads but they proved brilliant, almost deserted, challenging and breathtaking. The sun was...
this morning in the woods:
just went back from Renault where they changed the rear pads and put some new brake fluid (it was DOT4 before, and they put some DOT5 in it after cleaning the system). didn't have time to push the car but the pedal is easier to modulate in town.
next step ...
