George is a very clever man having worked for Williams f1 in the good old days and also xtrac I think. He has just got a pdk Cayman to give him a challenge! We all went to Llandow last year and privately hired the track which is a great blast with only 10 cars!

A cage is an msa recommendation but is not mandatory. All you need is a car with yellow tape around the battery earth, a sticker showing the on/off for ignition, FIA race suit, helmet and gloves and a metal strut on front of car to break beam oh and msa non race licence which requires no test...
For specialist road going you have to keep all the trim but are allowed to remove the carpets and replace the seats and steering wheel and can run semi racing tyres from the MSA 1b list. The new production class is even stricter and you have to leave the car basically as it came from the factory...
what size rims did you run on the tarmac 15s?? trying to decide what to do on mine as the s1600 ran 17"s I've got 15x8 at the moment but need a second set so seeking advise! cheers :car:
Cheers @Ads29 a great write up. I was concerned about the self centering and forgetting which gear I only live a few miles away from @pure-motorsport so will pop along if they have a showroom as such. I have raced with Nick at Castle Hillclimb before but going into rallying just needed the...
I use a cheap eBay obd2 wi-fi dongle that relays live data to your app of choice Harry's or track addict. Then you use your phone camera so need a solid dash mount. If you then want to use the data from the phone with a gopro/sjcam then it becomes a bit more difficult and it's best to you a...
Please post a report on this as I have a feeling I may need one for the rally car but have a concern about the self centering or lock of as from the looks of it on videos I have seen it does not centre over any particular gear (but this maybe me!)
There is a new road going class which is a lot more strict and has to run road tyres and only allows safety mods to cars. It also has a new turbo multiplier of 1.7 against the rest as the classes which run a 1.4 multipler.
Started stripping out the sound deadening what a S**T job but glad I'm doing it. I decided to document each area.
First patch is the bit in the boot 773g Second bit
Behind each seat 604g so 1.208kg
The bits in each rear side section 318g for both sides
I also started the roof and that is a...
Cheers mate yes the new cage is a full custom cages one that meets the new regs and comes with the certificate for the log book.
Cheers just what I thought but always best to check. I have the RSturner to turn off airbag stuff as I'm running an omp wheel etc.
Can the ABS/TC be turned off in...
I used the Maxxis Victra MA-Z1 (non drift) which was 1a for a season and a half which were great for road going class but everybody else was running 1b so I had to move to keep up. With the new road going class they may be worth a go much better than the T1rs
A bit of an update to strip this thing down and a couple of questions!
There is a black box thing by the handbrake and one by the drivers door which I assume are the lat/long abs sensors Yes/No?
The silver box/module behind the gearshift I'm assuming is the Airbag control module OK to remove...
A quick report on the Southdowns stages rally 2017 at the famous Goodwood motor racing circuit. A drive up to Chichester on Friday to be ready for a very early start on Saturday morning. The weather forecast looked cold and variable and as it turned out this was not to far off! The temperature...

Hi, turning my cup into a rally car and have a cage going in over the next few weeks but as I strip the car what happens to the little sensors in the A pillars? Can they be cut out? Can the alarm be deactivated permanently?
Any help much appreciated as usual!

OK, So it's going to be a rally car! I'ts booked into ARM motorsport in Cornwall to get a full MSA cage welded in. A question to put to the experts on here is what do you do with the Alarm & the motion sensors? Do these need to be coded out? any ideas what to do with this little lot?
Like Pauleds mentioned join a local active motorsport club check the msa website. Start doing a few marshalling things which is great viewing as well! Then you will meet guys and girls who need help and even get into codriving then into the driving seat which is how I did it!
