Yeah I usually do the same, but it was so busy last night I ended up just taking him under braking into the hairpin at one point lol. Had spent too long getting past cars towards a clear bit of track to back off and give it up. Not something I'd usually do and did expect a talking to for it tbh...
I never saw the incident at Scotsman but I came up over the chicane not long after the scooby had piled into the evo. Think the evo had went sideways somehow and the scooby went into the side of him. Gutting for both drivers, but that was the same evo that refused to let me past, and if it was...
KH night. Didn't see any photographers milling about but then again I was only ever on the pit wall or in the car! Hopefully there's some photos appear.
First track session done! It went well, almost too well... Nearly matching my pace from last year which I'm impressed with considering its had the wheel alignment done using the "f**k it, that'll do" method and I was only on my AD08R's, which have probably seen better days.
Still getting to...
Seen a fair few clios out tonight on track but not sure if it's anyone on here.
Apart from it being constantly busy, full of red flags, and a few folk who wouldn't let faster cars pass, it was a fairly good night!
Anyone out on tomorrow's track night? Weather's looking no bad for it so far, hopefully it stays that way. Still plenty spaces for it too if anyone's interested!
That'd be @Dougie182 I believe!
Nothing much to update, but the car runs again! Got the alternator sorted and refitted last night, and a new battery on with it too. Alternator is putting out a steady current and isn't getting anywhere near as hot as before! Came to the conclusion that the positive terminal on the alternator...
Thought I'd replied to this! Aye, a second meeting point might be a good idea depending on where everyone is coming from. I think we stopped in at a Tesco for fuel further along the bypass last year so something like that's always a shout as well since we'll all need a full tank to get down.
@Dannyeff, @rctempire, myself, and maybe a few others are planning on going for some ribs at Tony Roma's in Braehead this coming Monday, so figured I'd fire it up on here if anyone wants to join us.
Usual script; meet up about half 6, all you can eat ribs for £20, leave unable to walk. Repeat...
Yup, track width is all done through the subframe on the holes where the wishbones bolt into. Cup subframes have them about 5mm further out on each side.
Nice one! Will more than likely be the A68. Took that last year and it was an absolute blast! Also helps to avoid as much motorway as possible if we follow it all the way down to around Darlington.
Alright everyone, this years ClioSport Festival is only 3 months away now and it'd be awesome to get a big crowd of us going down from Scotland! There's track time for those who want it, and for those who don't it's generally just a fantastic weekend all round with loads to do.
Weekend tickets...
I'm not sure. We never managed to check it with the engine running, but after dismantling it and testing the diodes in the rectifier circuit, there was one giving dodgy readings so I'd assume it was goosed. Which is slightly worrying actually as in theory it means it could've backfed power...
Deal. I'll get the wheels off in the morning and leave it on a pallet like you're used to 😂
Got progress on the alternator situation though. Not sure if it's happened since I've fitted it or if it was always knackered, but it seems like it's fried the electronics inside. The windings...
Yeah it's sitting not bad. Its rubbing a bit at the back though. Nah I won't be making it now, so selling my space on. Could've maybe pushed to make it but it was just a test day really and yesterday proved the car was all running ok (besides the alternator!) so I'll probably just get booked up...
Cheers to @Paprika123 and @-Jamie- for coming along today! Might only have been the 3 of us but it was still an awesome drive, and the weather was surprisingly good! Dry roads for pretty much all of it.
Managed to get a quick panorama with the phone when we stopped off at the top of Glenshee...
Suspected alternator failure. Was majorly fucked off with it earlier when it happened but looking back now at least it was nothing major. It's put a halt on Mondays track night I'm booked on for though, unless I can find a cup alternator within the next two days!
Apart from that the car...
We're stopped in at Perth just now, will be heading up towards Glenshee soon if anyone heading down from Aberdeen way wants to meet us there. We're about an hour from Glenshee
