Just about to play through the first last of us this weekend in preparation for hopefully getting second one for my birthday end of July.
As such had to dig out and dust off the old PS3
Even the mk1 rsi's don't make much yet although they are creeping for the 6 or whatever that are left so wouldn't hold out much hope for mega money on a mk2 one just yet. The phase 1 172's are only just starting to get up to 3k region for reasonable ones
Picked up refurbished rear beam from mate Justin who's been doing a few for us mk1 geeks recently. Fully disassembled, blasted and powdercoated and new bushes pressed in.
Great service and beam looks better than new. Good job too as my bushes were original and very worn
Cheers
Ben
So, belts overdue by a year.... on cambelt so the aux belt was 3 years over.
Bit the bullet and got me awld mukka @MicKPM at Diamond to give the old girl a well overdue refresh. All genuine Renault parts used for the following:
- cambelt kit
- aux belt kit
- dephaser
- harmonic balancer
-...
reiterate everone else tbh, standard of work and learning it all yourself is great, everything looks well thought out and well made.
as many have mentioned, not strictly to my taste either but overall cracking project and keep up the good work :)
@Ricardos they're hard to come by really, just have to trawl Ebay, autotrader, classic car sites etc etc and be patient.
Definitely try before you buy and ideally get from a garage where car can be inspected underneath if possible
they're similar to the phase 1 172's tbh, as in prices are all over place and tinworm is a big issue! lol!
for 3k region I would want a phase 1 car, not a phase 2 as imo the earlier cars are more desirable
I'd personally say it's a bit pricey, not completely complete and could easily be rotten as the later ones suffered badly when production moved as they began tool up for the mk2
