So as above, November 2015 saw my next (very minor) modification. I saw the metal foot rest covers available for the Mk.2 Clio and liked them but what put me off fitting one was that the Clio v6’s pedals are unique in the Clio range and they don’t really match the design of the foot rest covers...
I thought I would start a progress thread for my 2001 Phase 1 V6. I have owned the car since July 2011, at the time the car had covered 30k miles and had led quite an interesting life. It was originally purchased from Renault London West in September 2001 but by October 2002 it had found it’s...
I removed the rear bumper and polished the exhaust, then gave the mesh in the rear bumper and side pods a fresh coat of gloss black paint as they were a bit faded, here are the results:
I might put up a progress blog in the next few days if anyone is interested in seeing more.
I Finished fitting these this evening:
I just need to refit the top engine covers tomorrow, then test out the handling over the weekend and adjust the ride height if necessary. Hopefully I can give the car a wash at some stage as well if the weather allows and get some up to date pictures...
Thank you.
I might make a few more, but I want to test this one for a little while to ensure the rubber I chose for the inserts is nice and durable before sending any out to others. Pricing them is also something I have to think about as each one is fairly time consuming to make and the...
Hi,
I thought I would post a few pictures of my new aluminium foot rest I fitted to my car today. The Clio v6 has (to my knowledge) pedals which are unique to it and not used in any other model in the Clio range. This means that the existing aluminium foot rests on the market that have been...
I went for a drive this morning to get used to my new steering wheel and took this picture (taken on a phone so the quality isn't great) of it fitted:
It makes a huge difference to the way the car feels to drive and is such an improvement over the standard wheel that just feels way too big.
I fitted my new steering wheel today, but unfortunately the weather has been so dull and miserable that I have been unable to take a decent picture of it fitted but here it is before I fitted it:
I could have fitted the Sabelt wheel that many choose too but I wanted something a little...
Thank you both for the kind words . P1 RUK would look good I agree but it already has a personalised plate on it, and although it's one a previous owner chose I am reluctant to change it as it has been on there for so many years it's sort of become a part of the car's history now.
Good to see you and the other Clio's on Sunday Ian, and following your 172 Cup back to Taunton made the return journey more interesting. It would be great if a few more Clio's were able to make any of the future breakfast clubs.
A few of the pictures I took:
- William.
It certainly is a great sound, I envy owners of LHD examples who can put their drivers window down and hear it right near them.
They are fantastic, you won't regret fitting them.
Thank you, it was something I thought a long time about whether or not to do, but I am so glad I did.
Thanks...
Thank you!
Thanks. I like the orange side repeaters, they suit the car in my opinion. Your correct in your observation about the exhaust, it's fitted with a Janspeed back box. It also has a BMC Carbon Dynamic Air box and Goodridge braided brake hoses, the exhaust and air box were fitted...
I cleaned my car last weekend and headed up on to Exmoor to take a few pictures now that I have fitted a set of Recaro Pole Position seats with custom lower side mounts. The new driving position makes a huge positive difference to the way car feels to drive, they also offer much more support and...
I can only echo what has already been said, your v6 looks great. I am in the middle of changing the seats in my v6 at the moment so I know exactly what you mean about the nuts under the car being a pain, the air con pipes certainly don't make life easy.
I collected my v6 this morning from SG Motorsport after leaving it there last Saturday to have the following work done:
Cam Belt change
Aux Belt change
New pulleys
New lower engine mount
Water pump replaced
New clutch & slave cylinder
4 wheel alignment
New discs and EBC redstuff pads all round...
Great video, really well put together and that road looks great. Try a phase 1 v6 in stop start traffic though and you'll never complain about your 182 again .
No problem, glad to be of assistance. That looks to be the correct switch, I had to go to Renault as I was due to the sell the car the next day so needed it immediately.
This happened on my old 172 Cup, the switch will need replacing. I rang my local Renault dealer and they had one in stock, if memory serves me correctly it was around £10 or £11. It comes with a new button push which can sometimes be the wrong shape for the hole in the dash but you can just...
Thank you! :) The Phase 1 has an unfair share of negative press in the past (often seemingly from those who have little experience with them), but it's nice to see them finding similar popularity alongside the Phase 2 now.
I have only ever seen 1 Illiad blue Phase 1 so you certainly own an...
