Ok, so airbox has been removed. Next issue is how to get the hose and the end of the filter to attach! The hose is a good few mm smaller than the end of the filter. I thought this would have been the other way around?

^because I have no idea what I'm doing Also any particular steps to remove the airbox or is it fairly simple?

Am I correct in saying that the elbow and the filter should just match up and are held together with the clip instead of them fitting inside one another?

So, after messing around trying to get the head unit out (needs a special key thing to actually get it out which I don't have) I went to the fuses, thinking I'd have to go to halfords anyway to get some, but as it was there were spare fuses in there anyway and one fuse later it's all back...

Agreed, takes a little getting used to at first but once you get the hang of it, it's like riding a bike, you'll never forget! Remapping to X (Down) and B (Up) makes it easier in my opinion. Also, I'm really not loving the crash physics, especially on the escort:
