I've seen that 1.2, makes me cringe every time I see it, but at least it's not a Renault Sport eh? I'm around Rufford/Parbold and Southport now and again (used to be quite often but I've since gotten a job so don't drive about due to boredom as much haha). I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm...
Not sure, I drove past you with my xenons blazing anyway! ;)
Yeah I live in Maghull so up the road pretty much. I've seen a couple of 172/182's around the area recently. There's an awesome LY Clio 200 that parks right by St Anne's church too (do want!)
I've got Brembo HCs and Ferodo OEM spec pads and I'm yet to need more braking power. I quite rate them to be honest!
A set of pads usually means a set of 4 so 2 for each side. :)
Only just noticed this has been revived from last year! :o
Since I posted my car just randomly stopped the knocking/juddering, I have no idea how or why it started in the first place but I haven't noticed it make a noise like it for months. Maybe my powerflex ARB bushes took a while to settle...
Re: Xeon headlight bulb gone...
A dealer will charge you silly money for a xenon bulb. I'm not sure Halfords would stock anything but it's worth a look. If I were you I'd get a pair of 5000k D2S bulbs from ebay and get a nice crisp white beam ;)
These for example...
This happened to me a few weeks ago, turns out the pipe leading up from the bottle/pump area had gotten squashed in the bonnet hinge causing a blockage. Felt like an idiot. :o
Worth a look as you never know eh!?
I've got KU31s on all corners of my car and they have been great both in the dry and the wet, though I'm not one to drive like a tool in the wet as I don't fancy writing my car off. How long have you had the KH31s on the rear? Probably need a good 2-300 miles for them to wear in really!
I bought some sound deadening material from Halfords, I think it was about £15 for 2 medium sized sheets. You basically just line the material on the door behind where the speaker is placed. I'd definitely recommend it as it made a good difference to my sound! :)
Thanks for the answers Goodj!
Sorry, they're not component speakers! :o they've got the built in tweeters (car audio noob). Will having the dash tweeters running with the inbuilt ones cause any damage or audio quality loss? I'm running uprated speakers up front with cheaper uprated rears through an Alpine CDE-112ri headunit...
Can I just ask why you need to disconnect the dash tweeters? I've got a set of Infinity Kappa 52.9i components with the dash tweeters still connected and it sounds fine? Would I notice anything by disconnecting them?
Pretty sure it's a Fabia (2007ish model)
When I bought mine they didn't want a reg as I said it was for a Clio when I went into the dealership, they were a bit confused I must say. :o
I've recently put new genuine Renault rear dampers on my 172 as I had the same symptoms you've explained. My old ones had no visible leaks on but when they were off the car one was much easier to push in compared to the other. The new ones transformed my car and made me feel a lot more...
Hey all, just wanted to see what people's opinions are of the sound my car has started making the past month or so.
When driving over slightly scruffy or rough road surfaces during cornering my car makes a knocking/rattle noise at the front which you can also feel through the steering wheel...
Thanks for the nice comments guys, appreciated!
It's not as clean as it looks to be honest, the cleanest bits are the matt black parts I've painted. They got cleaned with an old kitchen sponge and a toothbrush with Fairy liquid a few weeks back :o
