Lowered 172 Cup? Ormskirk around 4pm.

I've seen that 1.2, makes me cringe every time I see it, but at least it's not a Renault Sport eh? I'm around Rufford/Parbold and Southport now and again (used to be quite often but I've since gotten a job so don't drive about due to boredom as much haha). I'll keep an eye out for you when I'm...

Lowered 172 Cup? Ormskirk around 4pm.

Not sure, I drove past you with my xenons blazing anyway! ;) Yeah I live in Maghull so up the road pretty much. I've seen a couple of 172/182's around the area recently. There's an awesome LY Clio 200 that parks right by St Anne's church too (do want!)

Drove past you earlier as I was just heading out of Ormskirk. :)

pics of silver clios with bronze wheels?

Funnily enough I did a comically bad edit of Bronze grids on my Iceberg last night! :o If only they made gunmetal ones...

OEM brake set up or OEM plus ferrodo front pads

I've got Brembo HCs and Ferodo OEM spec pads and I'm yet to need more braking power. I quite rate them to be honest! A set of pads usually means a set of 4 so 2 for each side. :)

Front end knocking/rattle sound during cornering...

Only just noticed this has been revived from last year! :o Since I posted my car just randomly stopped the knocking/juddering, I have no idea how or why it started in the first place but I haven't noticed it make a noise like it for months. Maybe my powerflex ARB bushes took a while to settle...

    Xenon headlight bulb gone...

Re: Xeon headlight bulb gone... I've got 6000k on my 172, at times I wish I'd got 5000k so I'd go for those!

    Xenon headlight bulb gone...

Re: Xeon headlight bulb gone... A dealer will charge you silly money for a xenon bulb. I'm not sure Halfords would stock anything but it's worth a look. If I were you I'd get a pair of 5000k D2S bulbs from ebay and get a nice crisp white beam ;) These for example...

    service time...what oil?

I've been more than happy with Fuchs fully synthetic 5w40 in my 172. Also make sure you get NGK Platinum spark plugs too (PFR6E-10)

    My new inferno

Looks awesome, I'm really starting to like this colour! Can I ask what sidelights they are?

Had my 172 on a dyno!

Could be because I had one of the pipes unplugged from the airbox? not sure to be honest lol.

Standard other than a K&N panel filter. Can't complain at those figures. :approve:

Windscreen washers not working, motor still makes a noise

This happened to me a few weeks ago, turns out the pipe leading up from the bottle/pump area had gotten squashed in the bonnet hinge causing a blockage. Felt like an idiot. :o Worth a look as you never know eh!?

    Kumho KH31s

I've got KU31s on all corners of my car and they have been great both in the dry and the wet, though I'm not one to drive like a tool in the wet as I don't fancy writing my car off. How long have you had the KH31s on the rear? Probably need a good 2-300 miles for them to wear in really!

    Clio 172 suitable speaker suggestions

I bought some sound deadening material from Halfords, I think it was about £15 for 2 medium sized sheets. You basically just line the material on the door behind where the speaker is placed. I'd definitely recommend it as it made a good difference to my sound! :) Thanks for the answers Goodj!

    Clio 172 suitable speaker suggestions

Sorry, they're not component speakers! :o they've got the built in tweeters (car audio noob). Will having the dash tweeters running with the inbuilt ones cause any damage or audio quality loss? I'm running uprated speakers up front with cheaper uprated rears through an Alpine CDE-112ri headunit...

    Car audio Manchester

Car Audio Centre? I bought my headunit and speakers from them with no hassle.

    Clio 172 suitable speaker suggestions

Can I just ask why you need to disconnect the dash tweeters? I've got a set of Infinity Kappa 52.9i components with the dash tweeters still connected and it sounds fine? Would I notice anything by disconnecting them?

    Skoda Splitter delivery?

Pretty sure it's a Fabia (2007ish model) When I bought mine they didn't want a reg as I said it was for a Clio when I went into the dealership, they were a bit confused I must say. :o

    Poor mans Xenons (HID's)

Here's my car with 6k's in. They are white with a blue tint in but not over the top I find, 5k would probably be closer to pure white.

    Rear end skitish...

I've recently put new genuine Renault rear dampers on my 172 as I had the same symptoms you've explained. My old ones had no visible leaks on but when they were off the car one was much easier to push in compared to the other. The new ones transformed my car and made me feel a lot more...

Front end knocking/rattle sound during cornering...

Hey all, just wanted to see what people's opinions are of the sound my car has started making the past month or so. When driving over slightly scruffy or rough road surfaces during cornering my car makes a knocking/rattle noise at the front which you can also feel through the steering wheel...

Yup sure is, looks great with iceberg I think. Still have the rear diamond to do :dapprove: going to be effort getting it off...

Gave the 'berg a good wash.

Any tips on how to remove it? I presume just use a hair dryer to soften it and peel it off? might do it tomorrow if the weather is okay.

I've been meaning to take it off, I'm sick of it too! :rasp:

Gave the 'berg a good wash.

Thanks for the nice comments guys, appreciated! It's not as clean as it looks to be honest, the cleanest bits are the matt black parts I've painted. They got cleaned with an old kitchen sponge and a toothbrush with Fairy liquid a few weeks back :o
