Once you've used George, you'll never go back.
Can't get Brembo front discs though, what I put on in the video was Mintex front discs and Brembo everything else.
For whatever reason the DS2500s are not as good as I used to remember them to be in my 172 Cup.
They feel very compressible and wear/crumble fast. For the price they are not worth it.
My new favourite, in the Fiesta, are EBC Yellows, zero fade, solid pedal, zero dust, and at £60 a set the fact...
Exactly this, 100%.
I'd run something comfortable, cheap, and mundane.
Then I could at least have something that's enjoyable to drive instead of just the one car that's enjoyable to own/waft along/be seen in.
I've always been puzzled by these too. Not once did I ever find my 172 Cup, 200, or my ST to be too planted at the back.
They're mobile enough as standard in my opinion.
Having said that, I'm sure Tony and Jay ran/run one on the Burpspeed car so I'm sure there are benefits, if only to really...
... And from a standard start using its launch control and super quick gear changes.
Rolling there would be next to no difference. As said above though, comparing or favouring a car because of a tenth here or a tenth there is very short-sighted. Bragging rights yes, but it does not communicate...
If I was driving a mates car and he told me to back off then I would back the f*** off regardless of how talented I think I may or may not be.
At least he's doing the right thing afterwards. Hopefully lesson learned.
It's a keeper already...I've firmly decided now to hang on to it for a few more years yet, the much wanted FRS can wait. So long as the ST continues to makes me smile, which it does every day, I'll keep it.
Yep. I'm 199 per ton right now with standard weight of 1,158 kgs to haul. 228 per ton...
I've grown to love it, I appreciate it's strengths despite the weaknesses...as in the sound of it which isn't too bad now I've gotten used to it.
MR265 may well appear on mine at some point in the future, but at £2.5k plus fitting, plus £1k for a diff which will be essential, it's a lot of moolah.
I did this...(I know, I know, it's not a Clio!)...having killed the Yellows at Goodwood two weeks ago there's not many better feelings than brand new brakes all round.
There's nothing wrong with SYNC1 once you get the hang of it...I just like there fact that when you talk to SYNC2 it shows command options on the screen as you speak so you can see exactly what works and what doesn't. That and the album artwork which is nice to see.
I dream of having an LSD, I've never driven one so can't even imagine how it would feel and give better drive. Not having one definitely hurts me coming out of tighter turns...especially 3rd gear where the torque/gearing is easily enough to spin the power away from the inside wheel.
But, and...
Partly to save time, mostly to smooth out the transition from throttle to brake wherever possible (there is some overlap but only slightly), and also partly to give options and control mid corner should things ever get wayward.
I got given an automatic car for a year a decade ago, instead of...
