I meant cheap as in, not a lot of money but it's a false economy, looks battered and needs an engine by the time you do that and everything else you'd easily buy a much nicer car to start with

Yeah haha I was going for it, also spent a a lot and had a proper alignment done on it :)

Im 36 insuring it wont be an issue, Id like to use it every so often to go to work in just to keep it moving but most importantly it'll live on the street outside my house. I had an MX5 a couple of years ago, loved it, did a lot too it but under powered

Why didn't you like it? To be honest, one plan I had was to buy both and fit the track one up with the interior from the nicer car and sell it for not too disimilar money and keep all the track goodies from it

Thanks Graham, Im hopefully going to buy something this week, I think for what I will use it for if the right 172 comes up then I'd just buy it and spend the necessary time to lighten it up, if a 172 came up in budget then I'd obviously get that.

Yep I agree, but half the fun is building it up over time myself and enjoying the changes. I'm an engineer and can't help but tinker.
