Finally finished my splitter build after taking my damn time on it. My first version was way too flimsy and only attached to the plastic bumper so needed something more substantial. Used my old one as a template and cut it out on some 9mm ply. Its coloured blue because I scavenged it from being...
Few little jobs done over the weekend. Clio felt a little too French, so added on these JDM bumper quick releases :grinning:
@Ben NBR Cup
Added a little sticker to the engine cover just for the hell of it. Its a track car, not a show car, but that doesn't mean it can't look pretty :grin...
Simple 5 minute job; single wiper conversion! Was simply a case of removing both wipers and bolting the passenger side wiper onto the driver's side wiper motor. The stroke of the wiper is like it was made to be there, it sits stationary where it is in the picture and sweeps right to the bottom...
You could possibly have been referring to mine about the airbag thing. The picture is what I had planned to do but with a recessed plate holding the climate control and fuse box. I have since bought a new top dash though since I dont really like that idea anymore and I no longer have the heater...
Cheers!
Thanks a lot! Dash still need to be flocked and modified slightly for the cage. Still have a few ideas about changing it up a bit and making some sort of dash pod.
Cheers! The only problem with matt black is that it shows up every tiny spec of dust! Having to get the compressor out...
Recently bought a gearstick from @cliosport-carl that was fitted with a Yanoo stiff shift 2.0 (I think) and got that fitted in. Was a proper paint in the arse because my Clio has a welded-in decat pipe so I couldn't remove the cat to get it out, meaning I had to undo the mount and bend the...
Definitely agree about having to take the bumper off every 2 minutes! I like the aerocatches in that picture too, though I guess he has them on for support too, seeing as how half of his slam panel has been cut out
Painted the Clio interior matt black this last week. Masked off all of the wiring and gave everything a good sanding. Primered and then spray matt black all using rattle cans. Turned out pretty good, pictures don't do it great justice because the lighting in the garage isn't great and I wasn't...
Thanks a lot! The plan is to trailer/transport it to the track, not plan at the moment to get it road legal though I dont think it'd be difficult to get it set up for the road. If i were using it for the road I'd either mount the plate over the holes then remove the plate once Im at the trakc...
Clio has been moved over to my mate's garage so that it can be inside for painting and other stuff where it may take more than 1 day. Bought a bunch of primer and matt black spray paint for the interior and for various other parts that need to be sprayed.
Decided to freshen up some of the...
Whats the metal box in the above picture? Just looks like a computer PSU to me.
Would you be able to provide some instruction or diagram as to which wires you wired to the switches for the windows and hazards? Cheers.
Definitely agree. To be honest most of the things I am doing are to learn new things, so I don't mind paying for things that can help me learn.
Though trackdays will not be a super common occurence for me at the moment as I'm only 18 so absolutely cannot get insured on a clio modified this...
Thanks! Nope not yet, unfortunately. Hell I only started driving just over a year ago and have only been into cars for about the same amount of time. Once the interior is sorted I'll take it out and give it a test run, it might handle like a bag of s**t but I won't know until I try haha.
Began prep for some interior painting this week. Plan is to go matt black throughout. Just got to finish sanding the interior then can get ready to paint, just need to wait for a warm-ish day.
Also bought a few things. Got a front brake upgrade; Brembo HC discs and DS2500 pads from...
Not 100% complete yet but I'm having a full custom cage made to my own spec by an awesome guy at my dad's work. Made from surplus material so its almost entirely free, just one or two lengths of bar I'd had to buy myself. Fully welded but purely a track car.
If it's a daily definitely look at...
I haven't done it myself though I have done the same as you and removed the standard heating. Could you possibly cut the pipes inside the engine bay where they are flexible and join another pipe onto it using a coupling?
I have an OMP passenger one, but not sure what my drivers subframe is, it came with the car. I took @GrahamS's advice (thanks!) and cut off the ends and sealed them with a lighter so that I could simply loop them around the harness bars, which worked well. Haven't done the same to the lap belts...
Thanks, just had a look at your too and really like how it looks! Yellow and black was my second option if I didn't like how the red turned out, was thinking of doing that and whacking a whopping big batman logo on it, haha. I'm currently in the process of making some brake ducts that are red...
To be honest wouldn't want to put it on the same bolt that holds my bucket seat in as I feel like that's a lot of force to put on what is a reletively small bolt size, but I hadn't thought about the side mounts at all! I'm guessing it should be fine to drill a new, larger hole in the side mounts...
