TRACK TROPHY 381 – PROGRESS TO DATE

Cheers Craig, was good meeting you! The evening went well, got the times down to nearly 1:07 before I had to call it a night after the brakes were sparking pretty bad in most corners. Shame your clutch went so early in the day. Fraser had the right idea though lol, if only it had been nicer weather.

[Apr 16, 2015] Scotland Monthly Meet, Bowling? (Glasgow)

Next meet, Thursday 16th April, 7pm, at the Showcase Leisure Park. Postcode G69 7TZ for any satnavs getting used! Is anyone up for bowling? Will need numbers finalised by the 13th April latest, to make sure we can get the lane(s) booked. If there's not much interest though we'll still stick...

    The Knockhill Thread.

I've only ever been round before on an experience day. This'll be my first time out on track in the car, really hoping it'll be dry or else it'll be a steep learning curve. Still, really looking forward to it!

    The Knockhill Thread.

Looks like some rain is forecast for this Friday, but it's to dry up as the day goes on so hoping it'll be dry for the evening session I'm booked up for! Anyone else going up?

    Bonnet wont stay closed

The catch needs cleaned and oiled from the back to release it properly. Take it off, there's a spring that should pull it back into the locked position and usually it all rusts up and the spring can't pull it against the rust so it sticks open. Clean it up, lube with lithium/silicone grease and...

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

Typical that they never had a 16mm ratchet spanner in stock though! Got 2 weeks to wait on a replacement lol! How much are track evenings down your neck of the woods? :fearscream: I'm sure £75 is up a fair bit from last year's prices too.

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

The full day session is like 6 or 7 hours and 170 quid I think. I'm going for the 2 hours evening session though, £75

Can't help with where the contacts are stored in the phone, but your contacts should sync with your gmail account, if you've set one up.

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

New dogbone mount arrived today Fitting it went well...as soon as I started, I managed to do this to my 16mm spanner... Little comparison of the old and new mount too Halfrauds lifetime guarantee ftw though, getting it replaced when they get stock in. Used the ratchet side and it done the...

    Rolling road results graph

Good to know, cheers. Does that look like a standard map to you? The power just seems like a good standard engine from what I've read on here but it's the torque that's throwing me. Most graphs I've seen on here struggle to make 140ftlb lol.

    Rolling road results graph

Might consider a map in that case. Could noticeably hear the flat spot in the revs when it was on the dyno. If I could get a bit more top end and then sort out the low down torque with a map I'd be fairly happy. Not convinced a standard RS tuner map would do everything I want but it's hard to...

    Rolling road results graph

Had my 172 on the rollers last weekend just out of curiosity really to see how it was running. Came back pretty happy with these results: To my knowledge the engine is standard besides a ktec stealth catback and a cone filter positioned behind the headlight. Comparing it to a few other 172...

    Scottish Specialists, share your recommendations

Anyone recommend an air con specialist in the central belt? Just realised how unbearable it is not having working air con when it's sunny!

[Jul 31, 2015] CSS '15 Scottish Attendance Thread (Edinburgh)

So since the details of CSS 15 have been revealed, and tickets are now available to purchase here, I want to start planning for the drive down and get a list of who's going. The idea is to all meet up and head down in a convoy on the Friday 31st, possibly meeting up with other groups on the way...

    The Knockhill Thread.

Haha yeah, almost defeats the purpose of taking a car like that on track driving it round so carefully, although at that price, I can't really blame the guy!
  19. sburrell93

    The Knockhill Thread.

I was up watching and the general standard of driving from a lot of the cars didn't seem great for a track day. Seen 3 abreast going into the hairpin at one point with a guy in an Astra nearly losing it trying to stay out the way. Was some seriously impressive cars up today mine you. People...

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

Quick video of it on the rollers today Managed to fit my new throttle cable this afternoon too. What a difference being able to actually control it at low revs now lol! Although I miss my makeshift cruise control I could get from the cable sticking and holding it at speed :disappointed...

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

Thats the AFR graph from the rollers. Runs about what I expected up until 6k rpm but then shifts quite rich, which ties in with where the power levels off at the top.
  24. sburrell93

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

Yeah completely standard as far as I'm aware! Only things I have on it are a ktec stealth cat back and the diy ktec induction kit. Would just need mapped to sort it out I think. Apparently they all run rich but mine took a bit of a hike at the top end! Ha, cage won't be going in until after my...
  25. sburrell93

    sburrell's ph1 172 track project (maybe)

Made 167hp on the rollers this morning, so looks like it's running well! It's running rich at the top end though. Not sure how much a map could help sort of the lack of any power increase above 6k rpm.

    Daniels Blue 182.

I'm pretty sure you can adjust it the same as the brake pedal one. If not, I'm not sure how to go about testing it lol
  27. sburrell93

    Daniels Blue 182.

Lol at the corsa driver! Is your cruise control still playing up? If the speed limiter works but the cruise doesn't it's usually the clutch switch. Might be needing adjusted or could just be fucked and reading an open circuit.

[Mar 19, 2015] Scotland South Monthly Meet (Livingston)

Yup, we'll be there then. May have moved from the original location to some food/drink establishment by then lol but I'll keep everyone posted!

I have a Clio diesel. I have questions.

    Lol! It's inevitable now 😞
