Will keep it short and sweet since it's taken long enough to get a thread up already, sorry!
Next monthly meet. 19th March @ 7pm.
Should really be back over in the east this month to keep things fair but I was thinking Livingston way since it's relatively central, if we can find some free...
Lol, tell me about it! Still blowing a bit at the centre after getting a new gasket too so it's not even a finished job yet haha.
...
Anyways, not much of an update, but I gave the car a clean today and decided I REALLY needed to get rid of my bald front tyres, so bought some Pilot Sport 3's...
An update! Got myself a ktec centre section last week (cheers @J9HHY!) and decided since I now had that and the backbox, I'd fit it tonight. The old exhaust was a proper c**t to get off. Had a flanged connection to the backbox section and the bolts in that were rusted so so badly. The cat flange...
Emm, basically the whole inner light unit is sort of hinged on 2 clips, and then the adjuster motor connects to another clip (with that ball and socket joint), and this pushes in and out and tilts the light up and down. If any of those 3 clips have broken then the light wont adjust and that...
That is an interesting one about the heat soak. My mate (@benji93) had a similar setup when he got his 182 the other week. We compared the intake temps on live data with mine and his, and after giving each car a bit of a booting up and down the road, his temps were around 50C and mine were...
Seen this at Knockhill a couple of times last year and wondered who in their right mind would be tracking a trophy lol! But cat D and most of the trophy trimmings being gone from it makes more sense now. Good to get a bit of a read up on it. Will no doubt see you up there this year at some...
I'd give it a shot with it all still in place. It's a 30 second job if you can get into it and get enough movement to click it in place, if not though bumper off and headlight out will make it faaarr easier!
LOL that sounds like my reasoning for going track car as well. Pretty sure it was something along the lines of because I had a dci 100, it shared the same rear beam setup and stuff so I already had lots of spare parts for a track 172 😂
Really need to keep an eye out for bargains...
What was it you said in my project thread again? Oh yeah...
Lol, looking good though, I like the green! You've done more with this in 2 weeks than I have since buying my 172 I think!
Depends what headlight it is really...the aircon pipes on the drivers side make that one a b**ch to get into if it's still on the car. It's manageable with small enough hands though lol. The adjuster just clips into the headlight in a sort of ball and socket joint. The white bit in the photo...
Ooh not bad! Might pop down there that day for a look to see what it makes  I'm only about a mile up the road from SOS. I always liked the idea of cams in mine but I bought it needing the belts done and the thought of a 4 figure bill right after buying the car made me feel a bit sick lol...
Might have my 172 in there around then getting a couple of things sorted out on it! Any exciting engine mods going on that's caused you to go for a live map?
Been in there a couple of times now to get different things done. I'd trust Dave with most jobs on my car. Never had any mapping done by them but they've mapped their fair share of high performance cars. Sure they used to (or possibly still do) have one of the most powerful 205 gti's in...
Lol! So long as it'll go away that's fine with me! HAVS and white finger is well covered in my work, and compared with the likes of big f**k off air powered grinders and stuff I didn't think the vibrations from a DA were that bad, which is what threw me a bit.
Not strictly a detailing question, but doesn't really warrant a whole thread...
Has anyone ever had a bit of pain in their wrist after using a DA? 3 weekends in a row now I've used it, and just started to notice a bit of pain at the start of this week. Its the hand I was holding the back of...
4300k is standard in these cars, so shouldn't look yellow at all. Those xenarc bulbs are 4300k as well. Xenon bulbs change colour as they age though (get bluer as they get older) so my guess would be that they look different because you've got one new and one old bulb in there. If you change...
Was good, only 6 or 7 of us but it's always a good laugh. No excuses not to get along to the next one now
I didn't have it with me lol! Would've caught a good few pops and bangs with a few flames too as well!
Slight change of plan from me! I might not be there until about half 7 now. Something has come up and I have to go home first so no chance I'll be making it there at 7 unfortunately.
Check for the clutch switch/wiring as mentioned, or pull off the panel where the headlight adjuster is. If there's a couple of extra plugs in there chances are you have the wiring for cruise.
Probably not until after 7 I'd imagine. I'll be working to half 6 anyway, just need to see if I can be arsed squeezing in that last half hour overtime lol!
Certainly is. Nowhere set for food, plan was just meet and a chat but we can see what people fancy. I'll be coming straight from work so will be needing some food regardless!
