It does sound like something could be loose, or something is knocking into something else 🤔
Was it the same before the work was done on the engine?
I have a different 1.2 engine in mine (D4F) and it doesn't make such a noise
How long ago was your last engine belts service and how much...
Yes belt plus idler pulley as you say. If it isn't valves it could potentially be carbon cannister, worth unplugging to make sure its not that causing the noise (it will throw an error code when unplugged)
I would tighten up the engine mount bolts to spec as well just to be sure
Do you have a...

This guy is running an 02J, might be something in this video (or his others) that's useful to you
Build sounds mega, look forward to seeing it
Looking at the invoices I know the sensor has been changed on mine but I don't know about the loom. Looks like shrink tube on the black wire..., will find out when I next pull the airbox
My loom is cream/black and the Hella replacement is red/blue 🥴 did you go genuine?
Hella and Febi do them for about £20 with loom, you can get a genuine one for £60 Renault Parts direct + £24 for the loom bringing it up to £90 or so with delivery
I have a Hella one as my backup, but not yet had to fit it so can't recommend it as such
EDIT: Some private sellers have genuine...
Looks like a one way valve, maybe PCV/vacuum system? If faulty it would cause a high idle but not specifically a cylinder misfire
Have you tried moving the cylinder 3 injector to say cylinder one and see if the misfire moves with it? If it's not the injectors you may be chasing electrical...
Got the rear in the air to change pads / paint calipers / see if there are any dirty secrets
What in the actual f**k is this repair. Exhaust mount, hose clipped, to a riveted bumper mount... At least I hope that's an attempted repair.
I have a contact for a welder to fix the silencer, but...
In no particular order after finding the exhaust cracked:
Heatshield mount torn
Heatshield mount epoxied (I think)
Gearstick lift reverse plastic snapped
At least it has brass bushes in the shifter... And apparently an entire tub of copper grease smeared up in there
I have the old gearstick...
You can also run Peugeot 207 2L front calliper's on standard 1.2 knuckles (with spacers) which let you run 280mm discs. Pedal gets longer but the stopping power is greater
I was going to say you can pretty much swap anything over can't you, the question is at want point should you just buy the...
As an owner of a 1.2 and a 172, no not really
Maybe suspension if you want to go down coilovers route, knuckle spacing maybe wrong though
No power mods are available aside from putting the 2L engine in it, but then you would just buy a 172/182
If you have any specific queries go for it, I...
Lens will only come off with heat, best be avoided if possible! I have mangled a few experimenting, @SharpyClio did a great job recently in his thread
You can remove the bulb holders so hopefully a fix is doable
Put mine about halfway, then adjusted it when back on the car using a wall to set it level (Engine on if its self levelling)
Does the motor work when you adjust the lights? (to confirm the motor works)
Did you have to unhook the ball from its mount or did it come out easily? (If it was...
There is probably a bumper off guide on forum but this helps to see. I put tape along the bumper join just in case the bumper pops up as it can scratch the paintwork - similar can happen to the headlight as well ask me how I know
The plastic rod the goes in and out for height adjustment came loose in mine
Depending on airbox setup you can get the motor out without removing the headlight. Removing the headlight is easier though.
Unplug cable. Bend tab on the headlight housing away. Rotate to release from headlight...
🥲
The rest of the work is sound and the offer to sort on warranty there or at my local renault garage was there - will chalk it down to "it is what it is"
The answer to your question is no, but I am trying trying to avoid any sh*t flinging
Got my s**t together and tackled the tensioner. I messaged TwoTechs and Terry gave me a call, I could get the tensioner replaced under warranty otherwise he gave me some tips on how to tackle removing the bolt
The trick was to wedge a screwdriver between the tensioner and the mount to hold it...
