Apologies for bringing up and old thread, but are the cobra x-low ones the ones to go for then to give me the option to have harness's in car, yet retain the seat-belt too?
I may have... She's sleeping at the moment! Haha! (Don't actually know if I've got any decent pics... Prob have some from the escos photo shoot yonks ago!)
Interesting how everyones views vary dependant on how many cars / whats they've done in the past! All quite interesting really, esp when considering the same question was asked on he Escos forum a while back and you had a similar theme to the replies : decide what you want to achieve - and...
I guess that's the point I was making though : because these are now cheap cars, a lot of them will have been run on a shoestring budget : to my mind replacing all of the above is common sense, and will be needed after a set amount of time.. Most of what I want to do are essentially service...
For those that said do nothing, I think you're slightly missing the point - the newest of these are what.. 10 years old now.. If they have been used at all properly through their lives then renewing aspects (in particular the brakes and suspension) should be top of the list to ensure they remain...
So.. Bit of a general question for all of you guys..
I've recently bought a 182 - essentially a blank canvas if you will.. Belts will be done shortly, and I'll be asking the garage (two techs) to give me a list of stuff that needs attention..
My actual plan for the car is to essentially keep it...
Yeah - just then there is always the risk you want to change the poundage of the springs etc too..
I'll be trying to stick to a plan as I know that the second you start chasing power and or seconds round a track you're on a very slippery slope :-)
Bit left field, but if you don't want live times, but want to analyse after why not use something like strava? It's a GPs fitness app that'll give you what you like I believe - it's certainly the case that on garmin bike computers you can set up laps to give you the exact info you'd be after!
I used a cheaper wiper arm removal tool first and it bent the arms rendering it useless! (And that was after trying plusgas on it too) that little c shaped toll was the only thing that would move the front ones..
If it's your first time, you'll love it - I've been 7 or 8 times!
Be carefull not to leave anything you're not willing to lose in your tent if you're on one of the public sites. Get to arnarge and the Porsche curves at night. Defo go on the big wheel at night. Get up before sunset, and watch...
Hello all,
Have recently bought a RB 182, so figure this is the best place to learn what's the best route to take for a few select mods to make it more suited to some track work!
Need to have the belts done, but then it'll be a case of brakes and suspension refurb likely some turinis (sp?) too!
