Yeah splitter is at the top of my list. 'P' is mandatory in the first 3 years of driving out here, points and a fine for not displaying them, unlike back there where it's just for people that are scared of traffic! Haha.
Boring drive up Mt Keira today following a tortoise that had cleverly disguised itself as a VT Commodore. Spotted this Graffiti on the way so stopped for some photos, they'd probably look quite good if I had a decent camera/ knew how to point the iPhone properly.
Decided to fit the 197...
I had my freshly refurbed 182 wheels fitted this weekend at the same time as my Spax coilovers. It's still early days in regards to how they ride, I've never had coilovers before so I'm still playing around with the damping to make sure that my definition of 'firm' or 'crashy' etc is accurate...
Spax RSX706 Coilovers. Can anybody advise if I will need camber bolts? The kit didn't come with any.
Venom received the kit from Spax on the 21st Sept and it was delivered to my door on the 28th - very impressive.
I've also been informed that my wheels will be finished this week (mates rates...
Quick update - Just placed an order for some Spax coilovers. Went for the non-coilover rear kit as my car is for 99% road use so the trackday kit was overkill. Going through Venom Motorsport in the UK, a very helpful bunch and they're currently doing a 100pounds off RRP deal on the Spax kits if...
Thought it was about time I made this thread as a few things have started to happen with my Clio. Bought her in March '12 with 105,000km and went almost straight away to Paul V at AP Automotive thanks to the good reviews I found on this forum. It turned out that despite having a full service...

Here's my progress thread for my 2001, Ph2 172.
Summary of improvements/mods;

Hello CS,
Been lurking around on here for a while now but haven't done an intro thread. I lived in Newcastle UK up until 2006 when I moved out here to Sydney, Australia.
I have a 2001 ph2 172 that I've owned since about March this year. Bought it stock with 105,000kms on the clock (60k miles)...
Cars don't degrade as quickly as they do in the UK. When I moved here I was surprised at how many really old cars are on the road (80s and early 90s models), the fact that they last so long means they depreciate less quickly.
I'm guessing it would've been circa $40,000 new so it's worth...
Re: Our ring and spa report (3 TF days, 1 trackday at ring, 1 trackday at spa) Pics/V
Excellent read, if I ever come back to the UK regular jaunts across Europe will have to be done. Seems like you had a brilliant time both in and out of the car. Thanks for sharing.
I Lol'd. :)
As mentioned, the RSTuner 98RON map gives a much more bearable drive when the engine is cold and seems to give a fair amount of mid range torque increase. Smooths out the 5k kick dramatically. The added benefit of the RSTuner is that it can be used for basic diagnostics and messing...
Mine was strange too, only under heavy load. I originally took the plugs out to check their overall condition and noticed #1 was soaking - Dried it all out and she ran perfect again.
Did this first time I washed my car, never did the old Nissan any harm but from now on the Clio will have a filthy bay!
Kitchen roll and long nose pliers worked for me.
As above it's just a part of the windscreen that doesn't have the coating. I assume France is the same as here in Australia where charges for toll roads are done electronically through a tag. The screen coating blocks the signal.
Gonna get flamed for this but... Laid the dogbone on the ground with the side already inserted on the ground... Place other half in as far as it will fit then take to it with a ball pein hammer. Went in a bit lopsided but eventually dropped in. It's a real PITA.
Hi Guys,
Anybody got an e-mail contact for anybody at Venom Motorsport? Pretty keen to talk to them about ordering a coilover kit but don't want to be paying a massive phone bill at the end of the month due to calling from Australia.
Thanks in advance,
Andy
Rs Tuner is definitely worth the money. Cold start behavior is drastically improved with the 98RON map. You also have the diagnostic functions whenever you need them rather than having to go to a dealer or garage. (In most cases).
