Here is a good overview of the HP Microserver Gen8:
http://techhead.co/hp-proliant-microserver-g8a-decent-home-lab-server/ (ignore the part about drive capacity, I have 2 x 6TB HDDs working fine in mine and I can't see any reason why 8TB wouldn't work either)
They are a server, but you can put...
You should get a Microserver when they are next on a deal, I don't think there are any currently but they have been offer a few times recently so are likely to be again:

Its all relative tbh, i want to upgrade my main desktop and all it needs is motherboard / cpu / ram / m.2 ssd and thats roughly a £1000. Whereas a little while back i built a mini-ATX machine from nothing for the same money which whilst not graphically, is easily the most powerful machine i...
Yeah all of mine broke recently so I rebuilt them all with Jarvis and Specto which seems faster than the old setup, it also automatically searches through sources which was always a PITA.
TIM cleaner is what I use, but tbh you don't necessarily need it, a bit of paper towel and or cotton buds can clean them up easily. I've also seen some components specifically say not to use TIM cleaner, not sure why.
Traded my Xbox copy in and bought it in Steam, can't wait to get started on it this evening (currently rebuilding my PC after configuring an iTunes server VM and making a few server changes).
They are great monitors, but yeah definitely in the back of my mind to almost expect problems which as you say isn't great. One of my two has had a couple of occasions of flickering, but I think that is due to the longer (3m) cables I am using with them, if it happens again and more so I atleast...
I've moved my base at the weekend to Starlight Drive In so I could make it bigger and better, a lot of work but its getting there. 16 power armour suits now, 80 odd cores.
If it was a £200 monitor I'd be replacing in a few years I'd let it go, but not on a £500+ monitor that will be with me for the foreseeable. I'll advise what happens, I could end up with it back yet.
I've also got an interesting issue RDP'ing from Windows 10 to older servers 2008 / 2003 full screen, the text rendering is unreadable etc, apparently this has been sorted in the latest build of Windows 10 released this week so I've got to try and get my build to that. If I use the RDP window @...
No I'm using them straight away, I wasn't that impressed initially until I realised they needed to be set at 144Hz, then wow big difference! Switching back to 60Hz in games is comical.
You can just see it on this resized pic, i'm not sure what my chances of RMA are, its going to cost me circa...
Awesome monitors, unfortunately one is perfect, the other has a white spot / screen bleed mark so I'm sending it back on RMA, hopefully they will clear it and I'll have to re-order.
