Thanks for all the good wishes mate, I do love the sense of community on here! Chris-beer- the tyres were fairly new, probably a mixture all the crud stuck in them from my little off road adventure up the grass verge and a heavy foot. Either way, they wouldn't have saved me from the wa***r...
Nope! Got a partial plate from cctv on a pub just down the road. But never caught, had to claim on my own insurance due to the length of time off work, had no choice, which sucks
The prod owner of a 172, i fell in love with the car, i had just started spending my money on it and getting my hands dirty then,
January 27th 2015, I'm out for a drive, the usual country roads i know like the back of my hand. National speed limit road, as i enter a corner, a car is oncoming in...
I also lost 2nd, pulled off my drive, 2nd wouldn't engage, went for a blast, gave it a try and went straight in.
Left for work this morning, 2nd once again wont engage. It feels and sounds like trying to put in gear without a clutch except the clutch is new and every other gear is fine! so...
I recently bought a 182, previously owned a 172.
Last night when changing gear, the revs were not dropping.
For eg I change at 3500k, when dipping the clutch the revs would sit at 3500k until the next gear engaged and dragged the revs back down.
Throttle position sensor maybe?
Also, electrical...
Hmm maybe the breaking issue isn't the car and more because I've come driving a brand new Audi A1 for 2 years (Audi brakes ) to a clio. I changed the front discs and pads when I bought the car (Only pagid's premium stuff) but was just a quick fix for the worn discs from when I purchased the...
Ha I do that anyway. As much as I love the 172 cup's and 182's due to the rear bumper and twin pipes. There's something of a 'sleeper' look to the 172. People look at you like 'oh a clio' Then you drop a gear, into the power band and stick your foot down, with TC off of course and they look...
Little update. Cars now on Eibach Sportline Springs. Im yet to receive the Shocks (Koni Str.t) but thought id fit the new springs giving me an opportunity to give all the corresponding nuts and bolts a lube up and prepare myself for any troublesome bits for when I receive the shocks. Luckily...
Theres already some threads about this but no solutions.
Had my MOT today, Failed on a rear wheel bearing, Headlamp washers (not working) and the fact that my steering lock dosent work. Tomorrow is fixing day, the wheel bearing and pump i will replace but needed some guidance on the steering...
Thanks man! Appreciate the advice! I didn't want to go too harsh in terms of ride (so not sure why coilovers were a option) ha! In terms of the drop, I just don't want to end up impratically low, I love my country roads so don't want to rattle my body or car to pieces
I appreciate the advice!
I have read on other posts the most common and best springs to go for are the eibachs, well value for money wise anyway.
Off subject but any advice on mapping? Is it worth it, I'm not talking about power gains nessacerily (cause there isn't mich) but in terms of...
Thanks for the advice, the rear shocks feel a little bouncy! I figured by the time I buy genuine shocks, springs, rubbers etc all round (new) id only be a few 100 pound of a decent set of coilovers. As you said, the standerd suspension is great (when it's not gone) I was going to invest in...
78k so overdue as I think they are listed to be done at 72? But it's kn 122 now. High milage I know but already had it in at Renault for a once over and there verdict was no problems and I got a bargain!
Hi, recently joined, had my 172 for around a month now, Got rid of the rusty old centre pipe and rear silencer and replaced with genuine new ones, new genuine exhaust mounts too. Next plan is coilovers in a week or so and some decent tyres at the end of winter. Any advice on if wheel spacers are...
I gave mine a good wash! Replaced the centre box and rear silencer plus new exhaust brackets, gave it a service (oil, plugs etc) Gave the engine bay a clean to smarten it up.
Next on my list is coilovers and decent tyres (received the car on budgets)
