For those that use carpro hydr02 and hydr02 lite regularly, can you tell a difference in performance?
I've not used lite myself, but used normal hydr02 to start, then gyeon wetcoat for a longtime now. I recently tried original hydr02 and I have to admit I thought the initial water behaviour was...
I experience spotting when I first used gyeon wetcoat around the A pillars and front of the roof, which I thought was similar to what @JD experienced? Went at it with DDJ line prime and it cleaned it up.
As this problem has just left a hazing I had guessed it wasn't as bad.
Wasn't long. Only as long as it took me to do a liberal spraying over the whole car then pick up the pressure washer. Used about 75ml to coat an estate car. How much did you use?
Fairy will not remove a healthy performing wax. It will degrade it to some degree, maybe enough to effect surface tension so little to no beading but not outright removed. More so on a weak or oily show wax. A hybrid sealant / wax like autoglym HD wax will shrug off fairy without being too...
Essence plus has similar filling abilities. But no abrasives. It can be used as a stand alone sealant like normal essence.
But you cannot use essence plus as a base or primer product like you can normal essence.
Normal essence can be used under nano sealants. Essence plus cannot. Instead it...
I personally don't like bilt hamber as I find them too tough and not easy to mould to shape but a lot of people rate them. Also generally avoid poly clay. It's cheap rubbish and can dissolve onto the paint for example if their is any trace of tar remove.
The megs clays have always proved...
@gally how much working does it need by DA? Original essence I thought was pretty quick but is this any shorter? I'm still tempted following a review on autogeek iirc where the filling was mighty impressive.
Only problem is I no longer own a DA and soley use my 3m rotary
Because engine oil will help keep it cleaner and make it easy to wash!
@rollingjones for most plastics on the Clio you have a huge selection of dressings that will all look decent and make cleaning much easier and reduce dirt build up. The front splitter and rear bumper insert get too much...
I always used the generic envy style or the black valet pro brushes. Then I got the autobrites dbs brush set and not used anything since. Didn't buy them direct though I can't remember who stocked them.

Tri foam applicator. Tend to initially worn it with the firmer white side before going back over it later with the softer black side.
Never followed it up with a wipe down to check true correction but it certainly fills pretty well.
Have you ever tried essence by machine on any firmer pads...
Essence is slowly getting used more and more, it's replaced my finishing polish and glazes by hand and machine application. Performs and applies so well. Never let it's durability run it's course fully so can't comment on that.
Reset shampoo is another good product and have plenty of it. I know...
@Coby. You can't go wrong with carpro essence, especially if you can apply it by machine. If fills, it corrects as much if not fractionally more than a finishing polish. Tyre finish is so deep and rich, and so slick. It really does leap ahead of the usual AIO's and pre wax cleansers and glazes...
The way it's applied and removed it shouldn't really be possible to provide a thick layer. Although multiple applications will create quite a strong coating and I've seen Wet coat shrug off and still bead and sheet after a strong wash with carpro reset, then decontaminated with tarX and ironX...
Think of it this way, when rinsing off the pressure of the water will help push or spread the product around the panel.
If you applied it only to the bonnet, when rinsing that water will spread over the windscreen, wings and bumper and they will also become hydrophobic where the product has...
@Davyy you use 1/4 to 1/3 of the 1 litre bottle of hydr02 lite in one application on a Clio? If so you're massively over applying product therefore wasting it
I've used gyeon wetcoat a lot which is the same type of product. I use it as a top up product to maintain the cars through winter over...
@Davyy It'll last longer on a bare surface, but I'd personally apply the wax initially, and when beading drops off use the hydr02 with the next wash to keep it well protected.
DLUX beads better than c5 but it doesn't last as long. c5 has always lasted better and been easier to clean than all the wheels I've done wth DLUX. You might get twice as much for your money but I'd still choose C5
What's the base LSP you're using it over @Cliotoby ?
I've not used BTBM as I found it quite expensive and needed quite a lot so poor dilution ratio to get over our hard water.
Used to like gwash years ago but recently tried a sample of it recently from cleanyourride and really didn't feel...
@Rhino172 I would always spray toughcoat onto a foam applicator instead of onto the panel so if you can get a pouring bottle top that'll be fine.
If the spray head isn't cleaned out or emptied after use toughcoat would eventually cure in the head and ruin it so it wouldn't work.
Apply it as...
@gally is there much difference in performance between hydr02 and the lite version?
Im still to try the lite version, but see little difference in performance between hydr02 and gyeon wetcoat
@Perry
Meguiars ultimate quik wax
Sonax extreme brilliant shine detailer
Zaino z18
Chemical guys hybrid v7
Powermaxed winter coat
Then there are the likes of carpro reload or gtechniq C2 but these can sometimes require a bit more attention when applying.
Guessing you've got a pressure...
Scholl concepts s3. Works really well but you'll have to adjust your technique a bit as it cuts heavy very quickly but starts to break down much sooner than a traditional polish. Combine this with the Scholl concepts sandwich spider pad and it'll cut and finish very well in a single set
@Cliotoby if it's a nilfisk you've got, the auto nozzle attachment gives a good fan and not quite as pressurised as the standard nozzle. Works well for final rinsing

Can't remember if the adjustable nozzle comes as standard now, but if...
Friend uses it just for the final rinse on his black and dark grey cars. He hasn't found it necessary for the washing parts, but whilst the LSP is still effective he can pressure rinse with the di water, then open hose rinse with the di water and it's good enough to leave to dry in direct...
A friend has switched to DI vessel and thoroughly recommends them. He has said you need to roll the vessels so that the water doesn't create a channel through the resin.
Lovely looking colour. I really want that
The autofinesse polishing compound and pads actually works really well together. Only thing I wasn't keen on was the amount dust given off.
If you've already got the kit continue with it until your get your technique sorted otherwise you can spend more money and not get any real benefit.
