Oh dear, how embarrassing 😊! I should recognise an OBD when I see one . In my defence, they're normally a little more accessible .
How can I delete this thread 😂?
Hi everyone !
The large plastic shroud at the base of the centre console was loose, so I ripped it all out to sort rattles and makes things sturdy again.
Anyway, I noticed this electrical connector and I think the top was off/unconnected when I took the shroud off. Now I assumed it...
I used a "Bobble Off" (:yum:) to remove the worn and loose bits of Alcantara from my seats, then gave them a good going over with Sonax Foam Upholstery & Alcantara Cleaner.
Next I used leather shoe (:grimacing:) dye to colour the worn and dry leather in the seat bolsters. Left it to soak/dry...
I suppose I thought all the air flowing through it would keep it cool, but I really don't know how much air is being sucked in .
Thanks for the quick reply, I can rest easy .
I fitted mine today - sounds tidy :smilingimp: - but the alloy bend got very hot after a 10 minute stop/start drive. Is this OK & to be expected?
Thanks .
As I understand from the "Fatty's KTEC alternative....." thread, it's 90 deg bend, 70mm diameter x150mm x150mm, but not sure if the hose will need fettling (I hope it doesn't 😅).
Hey, I spoke to a guy who owns a 172 Cup and was at Perran today (you were with 50thDegree, I was in the Flame Red 172).
Just checking in, and apologising for not popping over to have a nosey at your motor (though I caught a glimpse and it looked mint), I was late home and promised the missus I...
Dismantled and reassembled the rear brakes to make sure everything is sound (car is new to me). Then gave everything a good clean and dressed with Auto Finesse Dressle
Before....
After....
Gearbox oil change for me. Foul stuff . To get the oil in I butchered a 2 pint plastic milk bottle to make a funnel - so when upside down the milk bottle handle curved just the right amount to fit in the top-up hole :tonguewink:.
Also cleaned up the plastic undertray - 'twas hanging...
I'm getting a little bit sensitive about the exhaust, can you all stop mentioning it please 😂.
Talking of the exhaust, is there any flexibility in the 182 exhaust bumper surround trim? If I get one will I be able to mould it to match the exhaust diameter/circumference?
Thanks for the welcome everybody !
Yeah, the black bit is vinyl/wrap or something, it's embossed with 'Renaultsport' livery and appears to fit and be fitted well, so looks the genuine article. But I worry it's hiding something dreadful :grimacing:😂.
The exhaust 🙈. Its...
I won't do much to start with, make sure it's solid and safe with decent tyres, poly bushes and brakes. And Fatty's Ktec induction kit alternative of course!
My daily is a BMW M135i (<runs for cover>), I'm on my second one now, but I put 28k on my first in less than 18 months so it'd be nice...
:grinning::grinning:Finally bit the bullet and bought this little lady for a bit of fun. Got Brands Hatch booked in November (God help me with tyre choice for that :openmouth:😂), and hopefully Castle Combe September.
I will also use it to reduce mileage on my regular daily.
It's a...
In my quest to find a 172, I've now driven 3 of them.........2 of them had clutch pedals with what seemed like minimal travel and both felt quite heavy. The third one, however, which has had a new clutch fitted within the last couple of months, was much lighter to depress and had more travel...
Not really, but saw it advertised and it looked a peach. I rang the chap selling it and he said someone else was keen. I said I'd speak to him later after viewing a couple of cars near to me but he rang back a bit later saying it was sold . I reckon you done good :cool...
