They were strict on some things - noise, hand held cameras in the car, long sleeves (anyone know why short sleeves are a prob?).
They were cool about other stuff though, like the suction mounted camera, and generally the atmosphere there was great.
Free tuition provided throughout the day too!
First time out on track (Castle Combe 23rd Sept) with this flamer, 'twas awesome fun and the car was faultless. Stock apart from some Brembo HC discs & Ferodo DS2500 pads (and a stupid exhaust 🙈).
Picked up a used set recently, there's a slight difference in colour, but not as noticeable as yours.
And if it helps, my set look slightly metallic too.
Just reading for interest only here, but when resetting do you reattach the cable whilst the clutch pedal is still depressed, i.e. requires two people :grinning:?
Just to be sure, we're talking about these shims attached to the calipers (rather than the shims on the back of the pads, which I also haven't used ).
Great, thanks for your replies. I've already removed the anti-rattle shim/spring on the one side and it seems so much better. I'll get on and do the other side .
Even after filing a little bit off the tips of my Ferodo DS2500 pads, they are still a tight fit and I fear will bind a bit. Should I file more off or is it better to perhaps remove the anti- rattle springs?
I have cleaned up the calipers, so there is no debris or rust causing a tighter than...
Does anyone know if the seal kit can be fitted at a later date rather than at the time of the screen being fitted?
I spoke to my local Renault parts dealer today, and out of interest asked him about a new screen - £400+. I'm getting one fitted for £186 (because I have 3rd party insurance only...
Like a professional version of the rain-x repair kit Amos91 mentioned above? Sounds expensive if the RAC are doing it, specially as a temporary fix....:pensive:
I didn't give any thought to a new screen getting damaged 🙈, I was just thinking I got enough to do between now & then and could do without bothering with the screen .
I guess if I ask them beforehand they will suggest the safest and most sensible option, like sburrell93 said. I'm sure they have a duty of care.
But if I say nothing and they spot it and turn me away.......:weary:
It's probably not worth the risk.
I have a 6-8" crack in the lower passenger side corner of the screen which I caused whilst taking the wiper off :rage:. I've been using the car daily for 2 weeks since and it hasn't got any worse.
I will replace it, of course, but was thinking I might leave it till after the trackday I have...
Sorry for taking so long to reply :grimacing:.
Yeah, I fitted it in parallel with the existing 12v accessory socket wiring, and added an inline fuse .
Mine rotate with the steering too.
I've been reading a lot about the top mounts because I was so shocked to see a gap between the hat & body, and to see the funny angles they sit when steering. And TBH I'm still not 100% sure, but I think the hat does very little other than stop the struts...
Could I ask some kind folk to have a gander at this mount and pass an opinion on the condition (if it's possible)?
I've been getting a bit creaking on full lock but not aware of any knocking. Is this the original top mount that benefits from the 'washer' modification?
Thanks .
I agree, in fact I don't think they do anything properly on Wheeler Dealers, I'd never buy a car from them 😂.
I also heard that Ed China is a bit of a diva 😊!
Bumper off to fit new headlight washers. Turns out the pump is kaput too.
Noticed the aircon rad was hanging by a thread and had to cobble together some makeshift fixings :tongueout:.
Because a young lady drove into my rear a couple of days ago (see a few posts back ^), I thought I'd remove the rear bumper and check for damage. Not one thing was broken or damaged or bent or twisted. Got lucky me thinks .
All that remains of the bodywork damage after some compounding...
Actually I consider myself lucky! I was sat for probably a minute in the queueing traffic - the driver couldn't have been concentrating at all. I heard screeching first and then saw her looming larger & larger in my mirror, smoke pouring from her tyres. I pulled forward and left as far as I...
Whacked a new 12v accessory socket in the glove compartment to power dashcam .
Then someone drove into the back of me whilst in stationary traffic, glanced off my rear bumper and stopped alongside me on other side of the road :openmouth:. Said dashcam wasn't recording though...
This is what I bought:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200967481273 (70mm external diameter, swaged ends, 150mm leg length)
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/390629059729
It all fitted together nicely and no other purchases were necessary. The filter came with a Jubilee Clip too, even though it's not...
