I'll be getting some brembo's. You can't go faster without better brakes.
I'm tempted by the 16" f1's for bigger brakes in the for sale section but have so many other things to get!
What did you do fuel rail wise? Seen some people are going with f1 with return and regulator, my ph1 doesn't...
I have a megane pedal and master now, just no pipe, what ends did you use? My engine etc hasn't arrived yet so don't know if there's any pipe work to the slave.
Thanks, I thought so but It's always worth asking.
I also ordered a megane clutch pedal which was cheap so I'll have a look when I get them both next to each other.
What can I use for the pipe work or do I need the megane hose?
We used to use j p at my old work for the Aston's, I ended up getting them in kit form. As it was easier to tig them together myself to get the best fit as none of them came out the same. But the tolerences were pretty tight for 2 x 2 1/2" pipes coming out of the cruciform.
So I'm just gathering bits at the moment.
Ordered a peugeot v6 master cylinder.
Struggling with the pedalbox, just renaults said they had one then they didn't.
I know someone has adapted the megane clutch pedal to the clio pedalbox so I'm trying to get one as cheaply as possible incase it...
I'm about to do the same,
Already bought the engine etc.
So far I've found out,
Notch the chassis for the gearbox, if your going 6 speed that is.
Driveshafts, hydraulic clutch pedal box (dci100), 406 v6 brake master cylinder.
Need to use an early ph1 fuel rail with return, standalone ecu or...
Might be worth looking into, I did find an old thread where they modified the megane master onto the 172 pedal box?
Thanks @dann2707 I'll look into making a downpipe, I can tig stainless and Ali so fabrication isn't a problem.
Might look into modifying the std pedal box to take the v6 clutch...
Any ideas on the dci pedal box I need?
I've seen one but it looks like a cable clutch.
I want to keep it oe looking rather than a seperate floor mounted pedalbox.
Yes mate, going for a std looking car with some boost. But that might change yet?
Strange, the link works for me?
Cutting the tube is relatively easy can be time consuming if you do it without the tool, but do able.
It's better off doing it now rather than having to do it later when things are...
So I have purchased a megane 225 engine, 6 speed box turbo etc from Mark, @getikte for my phase 1.
Mark's been very helpfull with all my questions.
My plan is to build a std looking car with good power, 6 speed box and some brembo's under the std oz f1's with the engine bay looking like it was...

In all Honesty you probably won't but If you change your mind in the future?
It'll stiffen up the shell, but I Don't know how much flex there is in a clio.
If it was me I'd tie it into the a and b pillars, have...
Cutting the pipes is easy enough. Cut them a little longer, and use a tube notcher (about £80 on ebay) plus a cutter. Which would make it a lot easier but I wouldn't recommend welding it in yourself if you haven't before that is.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253032885862...
Hope so, she's had more cars than me lately!
She does love her 320d but she doesn't drive the 12 miles each way to take the kids to school anymore. She walks. It'll kill the diesel just going into town.
I tried to send the wife in that direction but she chose the golf! There's a trader who has a couple in the Birmingham area. He did have 3!
I loved mine. Quite tempted to get another but I'm having the wife's ph1. Going to use the best bits of the two and then sell the other.
So after not using my phase 1 for couple of years, I decided to take it for an mot.
On the way it began to smoke once it had got up to temperature. Then just before I got to the centre an injector failed.
So I replaced the injector and the plugs, ran it on the rollers at work for a bit for it...
