It’s been a long long time since I last posted on here. Over the past few the car has changed a bit, it’s gone from being a bit of a track toy to now becoming a garage queen.
The car got a bit of a facelift back to a more OEM+ look, with some fresh paint too.
I've literally just listed our 197 in the for sale section on the forum.
Really well cared for example, that's had all the bits that 'go' on these done already.
Good luck in your hunt [emoji106]
Give them a call on 01952582825, I spoke to David (I believe) who was incredibly knowledgeable on the Speedline range and the Clio specifically. Was speaking to him about homologation reasons behind the higher ET Turini on the Cup.
£518 for the wheels from Speedline
£100 for the tyres second hand
£80 for studs and nuts (Elite Developments)
£25 for front spacers (MAD)
£25 for rear spacers (PMS)
Yeah, it was - long old time ago. I finally made the plunge just before Christmas on them. Been bit of a pig to get fitted and looking right tbh. Spacers, shims and studs all quickly added up.
Given the car its first proper clean of the year today, weather was perfect for it.
Tested out a sample of a new unreleased Angelwax wax today too, which applied beautifully, came off with ease and left a gorgeous crisp finish. Hope the durability and water behaviour lives up to expectation...
We are going out for a drink later in the week, said I can drive it then. Tbh; didn't want to drive it especially as I was cleaning it. Didn't want to ruin the finish!
illiad Clio V6.
Firstly, what a car. This weekend has opened my eyes to what a fantastic and beautiful piece of engineering these really are. I had always had my heart set on a M3 next, that's now changed.
Secondly, the bit of a right up of what I did etc etc.
We started off with a snowy foam...
It has history, but nothing I'd ever hide. It's a part of its history, doesn't detract from its current condition at all.
I had a boot full of stuff all weekend, it is lower at the rear end, but I can't adjust it, so it'll as it is! The track photo is FULLY loaded up too!
I keep looking at...
Just putting a few pictures of my Clio 172 Cup from FCS 2015 up.
Overall had a really good weekend, and so please with how the car came out, looked brilliant.
I already have a new coolant bottle on there, with fresh Type-D in there. The colour of the old coolant was horrible, all brown.
I do need a new bottle cap though, like a clown I fitted the new one and threw away the old one. The new one from Renault came with the horrible looking white and...
You need to support the engine from underneath, the engine will just drop if you don't! It comes away from the engine mount. You'll need to line it back up once it's back on, but it's only 3 bolts and a nut that hold it on. I found the bolts were extremely tight, but once undone the job was a...
You know my thoughts on this Neil. How you getting on with Airbox! I have been close to buying an M3 over last few months, but I've fallen back and truelly in love with my Clio, so that's staying for another 6 months, minimum.
I used a second coat of Armour about 1hr afterwards, I always try to do 2 coats anyway of most products for even coverage.
Azure wax brings out a lovely fleck in the paint, it's a really really nice finish. Durability wise, I've had it on 2 weeks and the finish is still the same, water...
May aswell post this here too...
A few weeks ago, I gave the Cup a long over due detail.
Seeing as spring has arrived I gave the Cup a well deserved detail, I've not done it properly since beginning of Winter.
Really pleased with the outcome.
Snowfoamed with Frost Drift, Washed with Zaino...
Evening,
Been a long time since I've posted on here, but i've spent my Bank Holiday weekend tackling my engine bay.
This is what the bay looked like a few months ago, and its been through a few different guises, good and bad over last couple of months.
I wasn't particularly happy with any...
Armour I sprayed direct to car, but I know Dawn sprayed to applicator. Spraying to car was quite wasteful.
Next time I apply, I'll be applying to applicator. Takes about 5 minutes to cure, and wipes straight off. Couldn't be easier.
Yeah, we trialled the first ever sample of Aura on my car about 3 months ago.
Ice & clear are superb, not used lotus yet - but it's meant to give great results.
How did you find drift?
Yeah, mark is epic, regularly meet him for a beer and a chat [emoji106]
I was going to post this up the other day, but never got round to it.
I haven't got any befores, but the car hasn't been proper detailed since end of summer, so I quickly washed with Frost Car Care - Clean shampoo, with more than the recommended consistency.
Wheels cleaned with Bilberry &...
I know Mark over @ Frost quite well, and some of the products in the range are out of this world.
From what I've heard it has about a 55% carnauba wax content, and is going to be priced around the £125 Mark, it's due to be released mid-January I believe.
Armour is such a nice product to use...
