My mates 172 very often won't start unless the throttle pedal is pressed during turning the key, clearly not normal.
Something like fuel pump perhaps? i'm just guessing
Am i going completely mad or was there a thread in the car parts for sale section where someone was selling these and there was even a list going?
just looked for it but it's vanished so i thought i'd search any posts i've made in the last week, but again nothing.

Following another post recently i am under the impression my battery may be on the way out and this adds to the theory.....
Just on here when i hear my alarm going off, went down stairs to unarm it, as i did this it sounded 3 or 4 longish beeps i've never heard before.

If i'm getting a slight clunk noise when pulling away hard in first which i read is likely to be the gearbox mount?
If pull away normally it makes no noise at all, is it a desperate case of getting the mount changed/uprated or will it be...

If i put an aftermarket steering wheel on my Ph1 172 will it mean i would need to remove the stereo joystick control thing or can it stay in place?

The screw on the front foglight surrounds on my Ph1 have rusted somewhat, where should i look to get some replacements from and also how can i stop them rusting again?
Well after a long long search for a car and many changes of heart i finally found a tidy Ph1 Iceburg 172.
Originally i had been searching within 100 mile radius but then this popped up and ticked all the boxes, i had to travel quite far but was well worth it.
Bought it last weekend and on...
following an earlier thread i think i will be needed a new battery for my 172 immanently, any ideas of best place to buy from apart from the obvious likes of Halfrauds etc?
Since buying my car on the weekend and fueling up before the journey back i thought i'd see how many miles i'd get from a full tank.
Checked on my way this morning and the bloody counter has reset itself, how on earth does it do that?
Received my KTR Coilovers yesterday and am hoping a mate can fit them on the weekend.
Car currently has Compbrake Topmounts, just wanted to know before hand whether anyone else has the same setup on a Ph1 172?

Currently with Adrian Flux (found them to be sh#t)
I'm not necessarilly talking about price but service/cover quality etc is a must
Right well i bought my Ph1 on Sunday and yesterday ordered some KTR Coilovers. Hopefully get them fitted this week.
Thing is i've already got Eibach sportlines and Compbrake solid top-mounts on it, do i keep them for spare or sell - if i sell what sort of money could i ask for these...
Well i have many started threads due to searching for a new car, sold my last car nearly 7 weeks ago and have been hunting ever since.
Couldn't find anything that really took my fancy, well didn't tick all my boxes. They were either too far away, too much money or just not good enough in general...

clearly coolant is needed to go in the expansion tank but where can i get coolant from? My girlfriends 182 appears to be leaking very very slightly, when it was last at the garage they had a look but couldn't find a split pipe.
My girlfriend has a 182 cup but can't quite get it on the drive, the splitter grinds indicating we've reversed too far :D
My mates 172 FF gets on no worries at all, as i'm thinking about getting a 172 Cup i just wondered whether the 172 cup is higher or lower ride height to the 182 cup?
Right i've found a Cup fairly close to me which is always a bonus.

What would you expect to pay for a cup with this spec?
