First off sorry because I don't do things through the GUI.
Why do you want the touchpad disabled ? if it's because your palm hits it when typing then just enable the option "disable touchpad while typing". If you want to disable it completely just open a terminal and type
sudo modprobe -r...
I just put together a new system, my needs were different to yours as I needed a high speed system but not for gaming (hence the cheapo gfx card). Not on that list is a high end 128GB SSD. I would 100% recommend going SSD over hard drives for anything other than archiving/storage.
I also...
Eh ? It wasn't bitchy I was just pointing out.. the PS3 and 360 aren't so hi-tec anymore..
although the fact that he is so deluded to believe that 1500-2500 consoles per day.. just in the UK.. all with the same faults.. is somehow related to how they are treated by their owners is laughable.
I read up a ton of stuff and comparisons as I wasnt up to date with core i* technology.. I went for the i7 2.6Ghz which with the cooler I have can easily overclock to 4ghz if I want..
Yes, i'm sure the 55% failure rate announced by M$, all with faults relating to poor material and overheating is due to people not treating them like high tec equipment. ;)
Oh and the 360 isn't so 'hi-tec' when most Gaming PC's are more powerful !
Is it fook.. i've had problems with windows systems it taken days to try and resolve.. and even then sometimes it needs MS to fix it and that takes years... and even then it doesn't fix the problem but just breaks something else lol !
Ubuntu is ridiculously easy..
Everything above can be done...
Oh and to find out if you have 32 or 64bit installed open a terminal and type
file /sbin/init
Should output something like
/sbin/init: ELF 64-bit LSB shared object, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.8, stripped
The important bit is in...
Mate its dead easy.. you are over complicating it :) if you're running a 32bit version just visit a website with flash in it (eg. youporn ;) ) and firefox will prompt you to install missing plugins.. select adobe and click next Job done.
If you have a 64bit version then its a bit different...
Uncharted 2 reportedly uses all of the PS3's power, I thought Uncharted 1 was impressive but that only used 30-40% of its capabilities.
And the developer went on record to say that even if they wanted to the 360 would not be capable of running uncharted 2

Fanboy.
Unfortunately the PS3 only supports ext3 on the internal drive, not external otherwise you could have used that. I'm suprised the 360 doesnt support NTFS seeing as thats a MS filesystem on an MS product..
Got this as well as I love Tekken.. glad to say they haven't done anything stupid to change it for the sake of change.. few new charachters and more combo's destructible environments etc.
All in it's a quality game and it has just pick up and play appeal..
Mine deffo kangaroo's for the first 2 of starting cold.. in first gear I look like a mentalist at a rock concert.
Haven't had any other problems though.
Acer = s**te. End of.
and PC's don't just run windows you know ! My old job I had a linux 486 with 32mb ram running various services.. ran like a dream and had uptimes of over a year..
