Have you jacked the car up on the affected side and applied the handbrake to see if it locks the wheel? If the handbrake wont lock the wheel either then there's more than likely a fault with the caliper itself (not as likely as you have changed the caliper already but worth a check) , due to the...
I prefer to clean my car myself, but I also know what im doing and have corrected the paintwork so it hasn't got many swirls at all. Its nice to stand back and admire your work at the end when it looks immaculate :o
Yeah the cup suspension is lower/firmer (better), my 182 has all the extras (A/C with climate, Xenons, cruise, ESP, auto lights/wipers) but has the Cup suspension pack aswell, so in my eyes its the best of both worlds, just a bit heavier than a basic 'cup'.
^ lol nobody should really, that said are the 197 and 200 top dog anyway??, i had a 197 egg me on the other day and I was pulling away from him in the 182 which surprised me, maybe down to the driver in some cases though. And of course a turbocharged car has an advantage, pointless comparison to...
I totally get what you mean, sickens you to think its being ragged and abused or written off.
If I had more storage space I wouldn't have sold my Saxo, had a fair bit done to it aswell (engine wise) .
Would have kept it for a permanent track car then.
Properly nice car that is, would be nice to have something a little different. Surprised on the insurance to be fair, regardless of where i lived my insurance was always a rip off as age was a big factor. Only after being 24 and 7years NCB im paying a lowly £690 for the 182 lol.
I had the same issue with my old beloved Citroen Saxo, its now Sorn apparently. The only way you will know all the details would be to HPI check your old reg, that would tell you if its a write off or scrapped, but its will cost you to find out ;).
If its on its way out then it will start crunching on downshifts. If its really bad the gear changes will be crunchy on upshifts aswell as the synchros fail on them (3rd gear iirc)
You need to check the timing as well as if its out by even just a tooth for some unknown reason,it will still run like a dog. Also is the EML on? get it code read either way.
Looks lovely, Inferno is the colour to have ;). I had the k-tec exhaust fitted to mine aswell, sounded awesome for 1 mile and then went quite. I assume the baffles have some sort of wax/resin that needs to heat up and bed in. I ordered a de-cat a week after so it sounds nice again. I like my...
Nice buy mate, to be fair boost is a totally different ball game in terms of overall power, that being said there's something about high power n/a cars that I love the feel of.
What makes you think it the loom at fault? If you changed the motor already. I assume you have checked it has a earth and live feed to your motor which is why you changed the motor first.
The Bell housing layout is identical to the 02m box as far as it physically fitting. But the electronics on the DSG gearbox are far too complex to just fit it too another car. The cars ECU and the DSG mechatronic and ECU need to communicate, but they wont in standard form. You can buy standalone...
Red or yellow oil light? (yellow being level and red being pressure). If it was just oil level then even in he put 10w50 in it wouldn't kill the engine, especially if it was just 0.5l of oil, compared to the 4/5L it takes to fill it. 1st Theory :Sounds like a simple failed belt/chain tensioner...
To be honest I have never bought a particularly low mileage car, most are 100k+ and have all been reliable. I bought the 182 at 109k and its spot on. Previous car was a saxo vtr on 170k :o
Mine wines and has done since I bought it, its the powersteering pump, its not faulty or anything as it works perfectly. Just whiney, especially from cold !
Don't forget that the clutch/pressure plate gets quite hot, and like anything that gets hot it will corrode, due to the cooling effect and moisture in the air. Exactly the same as brake discs and exhausts. Obviously the more water its exposed to (Driving conditions dependant) the more apparent...
Im looking at getting some of these right now, apparently the grip on these are amazing. I was going to buy the Hankook Ventus V12 EVO but not anymore.
Passenger window not working, that's the only 'fault' with the car, but I have spent £££ on it since buying it 6 months ago. Wheels could do with a refurb but im being picky.
Lol, check the turbo for play in the shaft first mate (before spending £££). If its free from play and the turbine looks in good shape then it may not be that. 99.9% of knackered turbos will have huge play in the shaft and can be easily checked.
Also theres a chance theres a second fault, stalling on VW/Audi is normally caused by a faulty throttle body unit, also very common but this should produce a fault code.
