So many pics.. With the Sunflower finally back on the raod, here's a vid f0xy kindly shot toda. He just thew a few clips together as he was testing some new gear.
Busy few days, whacked the new engine loom and and we were away...
f0xy picked up a new GoPro today, so we went about getting some vids as there wasn't much better to do with a Sunday afternoon. Bit of hero action..
So..
The car is been sat still on the drive whilst I've been hunting down Ph1 Engine and Interior looms. Bit of a nightmare as I was offered all sorts, from Ph2 looms to Ph1 looms with broken wires and connectors. Finally happened by someone breaking a Ph1, and got myself the Engine loom, ECU...
It's a Zetec-S, fun little car, tragic styling by that owner. They look quite respectable in standard form, and Colarado red is relatively rare for them.
Give the interior a good clean. One thing I noticed over winter on the sunflower whilst it was sat over winter was mould on the seats. I ended up having to remove all the seats and give them a thorough clean, as well as the rest of the interior. Mould is easy enough to get rid of, but it's...
Right, electrical issues look like they'll be next to impossible to diagnose so going to have to get my hands on an engine and interior loom in mint condition. If anyone out there is breaking a ph1 with looms in good condition please let me know...
This is up near Buxton/Derbyshire area, not exactly sure where as I just stopped where it was quiet.
Fingers crossed. Aside from the electrical issues which are being teased out one by one the car pretty much flawless all day.
Up early, and off to get the car MOT'd. Weird driving it again, and was hard to get used to the dimensions again. Keeping the engine under load in order to run it in correctly, isn't all that easy, but think I got the hang of it. Running sweet as a nut, so good work f0xy!
Passed it's MOT, but...
Gave Sky Insurance another go, but no luck again this year. Due to my postcode they were coming back with very high quotes.
Brentacre: Awaiting renewal
Greenlight: £674.18 (fully comp)
Adrian Flux: 'Couldn't provide a competitive quote'
Sky Insurance: ~£2,600 (underwriter doesn't like my...
Actually... just realised we're at Silverstone this weekend, so will probably take a bit longer to get the engine run in. Don't think 500 miles per day is possible lol
Set about putting all the interior back together yesterday, was a bit of a headache considering it has been nearly a year since...
I didn't realise that, will be sure to give it a go. Got a few other companies to try yet.
ah cheers, will give that a read and try some of the others.
Me too, always go back and forth with quotes. A few years ago I got my renewal down by £500 just for getting a better quote from another...
Quick update on this... renewal time is due again in less than a month.
4 years no claims this time around.
Bit of a turnaround since last year, with greenlight coming in with a fantastic quote, not had a chance to try some of the other usual suspects yet.
Brentacre: Awaiting renewal...
