They probably will be in a crash....
It depends how you're going to mount them @haimsey, mine are on screw in eyes and then clipped in and I removed the clips from the shoulder straps and put them around the harness bar on the cage.
Yeah Id go with that, but tbh, used ones on ebay are a good way to go.
I dont like the ones like your OMP link as you arms are still in them after theyre released which isnt ideal, theyre not much easier to put on or adjust or fit.
Do you have a cage? I wouldnt wear harnesses in a bucket without one.
For daily driving, its hard to beat a normal seatbelt, harnesses are an utter pain.
For trackdays, 4/5/6 point with an "aircraft style" rotary buckle, wouldnt touch the ones with the seatbelt style
I'm currently on hold (14 mins so far) so speak to their "escalations team" after a missed engineer visit yesterday where I say in half the day waiting for them and they never showed. I called last night and was promised a call back before they closed which needless to say didnt happen.
This...
It was a good episode but its gone from "doing hard things" to "doing things the hard way"
Fixing up an old pickup and setting off for alaska was cool, hauling old s**t out the junkyard and fixing it was cool, building a duster from a scrapper when there was a decent one right there just because...
No, Sky, as I said above.
@DannyR - doesnt matter what language the call centre staff speak if they're incompetent.
It's just a shame that Sky bought Be, who IMHO were almost perfect from both a performance and customer service point of view and then ruined it.
Less confusing than 17 threads covering precisely the same subject. I did search, which is how I found this thread and most of the info I required, but not quite all.
With all due respect, no, its not tracking. Yes you can fix it with tracking, but something else is wrong. Like I said in my...
Can anyone confirm that aftermarket wheel bosses can only be fitted to the column in a single orientation?
Can the column to rack joint only be fitted in one orientation?
I had a careful measure at the weekend and centred my rack so the tre's were on the same number of turns and the exposed...
Has anyone got both and could compare them? If its just the holes then I'll keep them as they've had reinforcing plates welded on top and black power flex bushes fitted.
Cheers
I went to replace my balljoints at the weekend to find my car has 10mm holes, in spite of having the correct ARB mounts for a 172.
I've filed out the holes and fitted the 12mm joints, but I just wanted to A) find out where these wishbones are from ad B) are they the same geometry as the 12mm...
A 6 cylinder diesel german barge (330D or A5 3.0Q) to replace my high mileage 4 cylinder german barge (bora) when it dies.
A decent bike to replace my Husky SM125 when I get my license sorted (Hornet or Street triple are the current favourites)
Clio is staying for the forseeable, but in a year...
Hmm, I have a spare box and my current one is starting to crunch second (and is missing the speedo drive) so it was a toss up between just nailing it in, or sending it away for a rebuild. I'm fairly competent mechanically (built cars, engines, rebuilt motorbikes), but never specifically done...
Only just seen this thread for the first time. Love what you've done with the car and even more the fact you've kept it intact so that it can be returned to standard again!
Thanks very much for posting that up, some heavier and some lighter than I expected!
Won't be going heated screen, nor composite panels, the bang for buck ratio isn't good enough.
Not the best picture as this one is modified, but on the older ones the hole sat inline with the wishbone. On cup versions and later cars the balljoint was canted forward to give more castor.
I'm looking to replace the balljoints on my clio as they are visibly different and one looks "meatier" than the other. Short of buying new OEM wishbones and then re--bushing them, which I want to avoid as mine have the PMS stiffening plates, what brands are people using?
Car is used mainly on...
Check your wishbones are the later ones with the extra castor, and not the early shopping spec.
Track rod ends are missing from your list and if balljoints are worn, they will be too.
Roll bar bushes as mentioned above
What are your rear beam bushes like? They can have a fairly horrifying...
