What does the Mk3 come with - as my R27 just has a jack space. I want a jack though, and the towing eye, and whatever else fits in there. Anyone know if these are the same as the Mk2 items, and how much they are from Renault? Cheers Dan

The Mini is a Supercharged 52 plate, it's not he new new Mini :) They are a bit 'Venom' I guess - but they're just the stockers. I quite like them. We came to the conclusion after a few discussions and little "Can I have a go mate" runs that the Mini was probably the slowest by a small margin...

Both are true - I agree it is a warning of getting near the limiter, but it does conveniently come on at about the max power output point :) People in this thread are saying it comes on at 7krpm, which, as again someone said in this thread is about where the engine is making it's most.

As I say, it's just IMHO - but adding all the sports bumpers/wings etc will be hugely expensive by the time it's all on and painted - it'll obliterate any saving you're making.

The V6 sounds like it's hurting itself over 6krpm heh. I used to change, when really going for it, just shy of 7k in 2nd, then 6.5k for the rest of the gears. And I felt bad doing that heh. But the 197 just laps it up - feels like it just revs harder and harder and it would go to 9krpm given...

I haven't driven a 172 for years - but I don't remember it sounding bad. The 197 sounds epic over 5k rpm though :D And DEFINATELY kicks at 5krpm ish - its very noticeable in 2nd/3rd. The higher you rev the 197 the better it sounds. Although, this has nothing to do with the thread in question...

It should be 100% spotless. If there is any marks on it AT ALL reject it till it's been sorted :)

The light comes on just around max engine power - meaning change, then you drop back down into the power band. Remember these engines don't even show all their love till after a heady 7krpm. It's even more true in the 197 where max power is 7,250rpm and the limiter is 7,500rpm. TBH though...

If I had to change discs for MOT anyway - I'd probably get some drilled/grooved etc even on the rear - just for show - and because they won't be any more expensive than the OEM discs anyway.

TBH I don't think either are worth modding - even tweaked neither will be at all fast, or look as good or handle/stop as well as one of the respective Sport models. Just my 2p, please don't shout at me :)

The mini was a *little* dirty hehe! The Corsa isn't much higher than the 197 and to be fair, isn't a bad car at all. It doesn't feel quite as 'tight' in the corners as mine IMHO - but that's not to say it's bad, it still has a HUGE amount of grip, and brilliant steering. It's a VERY even match...

They have a previous shape (03) Astra SRi 2.2 as well heh - huge boot and baby spaces. But they're thinking of a Meriva VXR hehe!

I love that people like the Liquid best hehe :) Thanks guys :D My mate with the Corsa was convinced his looks the best, the Mini guy just loves how nimble and chuckable his is, and the Civic guy likes everything about the R27 more than his CTR - except the badge heh! Still we're all good...
