I dont have any personal experience with the Gen90, but i have an EC1 fitted and if only for the expertise of TDF i'd take that route.
Dont let the different loom put you, all their installs are very tidy!
Was thinking about more options for increasing power on an N/A tuned F4R engine and wondered why nobody has done this?
10 years ago it was all the rage with fords, perhaps too costly for todays market? Accord type Rs are a 2.2 straight 4 N/A and they pull much harder than the lighter clios...
How much did it cost you if you don't mind me asking?
I am impressed, this car very much appeals to my taste. Much rather have it over a track **** Clio.
Started using these last part of last year for track days because I couldn't afford the R888s anymore!
I was massively impressed, not quite at the same level as R888s but require less heating up, and they have much more tread so should last longer.
It's tighter than a nun behind the radiator but on the 197 it's set right over to the n/s of the vehicle so only one trumpet is directly behind the rad. :)
The front of the car cannot be cut up to accomodate like the mk2s as it's all structural so must be left put, once again restricting...
Ok I'm fresh out of patience on this one. Clio mk1 1.4 1995 model. Approximately 3 months ago I changed the coolant because it was dirty, appeared to have bars leak sealant added to it at some point, although no leak is apparent.Once the coolant was changed and Correctly bled the car ran very...
Thanks for your input Jimbo. However I don't think loctite will hold the weight of the car going over bumps. I will certainly give it a go though, it may just offer that last bit of purchase on the hub to keep it secure.
So this is just a design fault? Really one which could be considered quite dangerous as it effectively means part of the sususpension/steering is insecure.
I would fit better items but for the 182 it's either cheap £200 s**t or £800 stainless, adjustable spec items. There's no middle ground!
Torqued up with a 1/2 air gun to the max lol, anymore it'll strip im sure.
Just forces the hub back into the strut as soon as you go over any bumpy roads.
By bottom of the strut i mean as opposed to the top mount end. The bolts in question go through the top hole and a standard bolt wont fit unless its like an M10, which just isnt up to the job of holding the hub in its place.
I know they are cheap but i at least expect them to retain the setting...
Tony I'll give that a shot, TDF told mema similar trick but using 4th, it didn't work :(
Anyone got details for ren tech Chelmsford? Phone number, website etc?
I coulda just bought a 250 i suppose, but it wouldnt be nowhere near as fun as this is to drive now, let alone unique. Its not just about power figures its about how much you enjoy a car.
Firstly this is not a dig a Ktec, nor do i wish to start a hate thread or any arguements. I merely need to see if the problems im having a isolated to my kit or if there may even be a common fix to this.
Okay so KTRs coilover kit has the camber adjustable bolts fitted to the lower part of the...
£5600, but the catcam 402s and the nitrous system were already fitted.
Obviously alot of the cost was in the extras such as the ARP rod bolts, oil cooler, oil sensors, dash, carbon backplate etc.
No he didnt but it would be interesting wouldnt it? I'll have to get that booked in.
My misses ran 220bhp earlier in the year with the same nitrous setup on her otherwise std 182 ;)
Okay so previous to a couple weeks ago when my misses 182 was launched and lost 1st & 2nd gear i've stripped it down over xmas and replaced the clutch and fitted a reconditioned gearbox purchased off here.
I'll cut to the chase, all seems well apart from i cannot get reverse or 5th gear...
No point in remap unless you go for an aftermarket exhaust, purely to clear the flatspot.
Simple terms with air filter, standard box with panel filter. K&N are easiest to clean. Matched inlets can work well.
Cams will offer around 15bhp on a strong motor but are expensive for fitting if your...
