Thanks for the comments people :)
I'm sure you'll all get a chance to see it over the show season, planning on a little more work on the car before then so hopefully it'll look that little better. Race dash is fully Mot compliant yes and it's one way of getting around the new MIL lamps rule...
Quick shots of the dyno chart, super smooth power delivery :) I'll scan the whole graph at work so its abit clearer. Red is pre work and Black with ITBs. Take particular notice of the old flatspot lol.
I did one on my old 1.4 53 plate clio. I think theres a threaded hole so you can wind an M6 bolt down onto the tensioner to slacken the belt. Was quite literally a 5 minute job.
Welcome to my thread.
Recently had some major engine work done over the winter months, thought i'd give the club a sneak preview before next years show season :)
It all started a few months back when i dual decatted my exhaust system/manifold the recieved a tremendous flatspot which was very...
Clio 182 fitted with one of them cheap arsed £50 short shifters with oem pin. Launched it hard and went to go into 2nd and it hit a wall. Stopped the car and the stick will not go left into 1/2 gate. Can only get 3/4/5.
Checked linkage on ramp, all straight and tight, not rubbing or fouling...
if abs fuse has blown you'll lose the speedo unless its a Cup which guessing from the colour its not. so thats a good check there.
Rear excitor ring fault should bring only the abs light on...
Did you mess with the pads, push caliper pistons in etc. at the same time? Sounds to me like the...
Blow it, if you keep it in reserve it'll only end up going on bills or something worthless when your short next.
At least with coilovers etc it'll be a worthwhile splash :p
To be honest a 1kg wouldnt put that out anyway im afraid, its still a great idea but if you've ever used one you'd realise its more of a puff than a spray.
If fuel is involved or the flames have built up considerable energy ( as above ) then your pretty much helpless.
Always a good idea to have one in your car. Electrical fires+car interiors can quickly get out of hand. Nothing would be worse than watching your pride and joy burning in front of you.
Obviously its pointless sticking it in the boot like most people would. Is the car stripped/does it have a...
I must have been slow because i wasnt wearing my race boots!
When the kart to the right of me clearly makes contact and forces me off the track its more about where yours is positioned lol.
Anyway petty to get hung up on such things, i'll return the gesture next time ;), if you get an invite.
What you get for blatently forcing me onto the grass the straight before, lucky i didnt catch you again. :nono:
Fastest lap though  Happy with that, kart 11 had rapid pace on the day, nice drive! :star:
Re: Essex Karting meet - Sunday 30th October @ 1pm
Vicky why don't you stop tossing it off on CS and answer your bloody phone!? Your supposed to be working anyway!
Okay here's the story of events.
Last weekend I was driving like a tit with an r26r off a roundabout and the back end got twitchy, tried to correct and it chucked me into the kerb. Front left wheel made contact, very gentle. Didn't mount the kerb or bounce off, just kissed it.
Stopped to...
Fault rectified. Air block in the heater matrix.
You can get around this with the following:
Starting from an emptied system with hoses connected up, disconnect the hose from the return of the matrix ( upper one of the two which go into the bulkhead ) from the header tank.
Disconnect small...
No good, still knackered :(
Heaters are nice and hot for about 10 seconds then nothing, and car runs very hot, although the fan now kicks in and out instead of remaining on.
Yep pumped the top hose and purged all air out, definately coolant in the hose. Heaters worked perfectly before, any chance draining and flushing blocked it? :(
Update: temp gauge now constantly moves up and down when driving between a 3rd of the gauge.
Going by the google search this seems to be a pain in the arse problem that attacks everyone.
Car is a 1995 mk1 clio 1.4 RT with the 8v energy lump. Drained coolant, flushed with water, opened radiator bleed screw ( only one in the system ), filled up with coolant until bubble free etc...
