My girlfriend was up there working as a medic - she text me this morning and said the sessions was stop start all morning due to people driving like heroes LOL.
Sounds like it was a bit too busy!
Really don't like them stickers... and as for a bad cage being the first thing to kill you LMFAO.
I've seen some "for show" cages bend and stab people in an accident - but that cage won't kill you.
To remove the a pillar plastics - pull the rubber door seal away down the A pillars - pull the top of the a pillar plastic away and look through the gap - there's a clip you press with a flat bladed screwdriver then they just pop off :)
Yup - I can't fault them. I was helping a mate out a few years back working on a customers car - we thought the omex on it might be faulty, they sent a new one out via courier for us to try without waiting for the current one back to test. They are so helpful.
Jenvey have been brilliant as...
Oooh Ooh I nearly missed this!
I was supposed to be fitting the cruise control kit to the Passat tomorrow - but I might put that off till Sunday and come and see you chaps :)
It's not the same as software licensing though. Let me try to explain.
If you sell an ECU with your firmware/software and offer to provide the same firmware/software for the life of the hardware then people buying that ECU will get an inherent resale value from it.
If you sell an ECU with your...
Let's put it into perspective without being a dickhead about it
"Hi, I've bought your ecu second hand and although I've chosen to go with another mapping company I still need quite a few parts to finish my engine build and as a Clio owner I could potentially be spending money with you in the...
Wait wait wait wait. You have to PAY for a base map?
What. The. f**k.
Also saying it's not a kit they sell is utter b****cks - you have the exact same setup as mine and mine came from K-Tec. They swapped to DTH Jenveys recently but before that they sold the seperate bodies like we have...
I think what's more annoying is the complete unhelpfulness when you ask for support from them for a 2nd hand ecu. Effectively means the re-sale value of the ECU is f**k all. Whereas if you re-sell an Omex/DTA and the new owner rings them for support you get it.
There seems to be a few companies...
That's what I understood - it would be madness to open the ECU
As for the base map - a base map is a base map. 172 PH1 or PH2 or 182 - they'll all run.
Mark says the injectors are firing - just the fuel pump not running
The fuel pump on a ph2 is just a 12v feed to the relay in the engine...
Chip - you've never ONCE in any thread I've ever read on here said that "in my opinion" blah blah blah.
When you said Clios don't make a good basis for a stance car you STATED it in a very factual way. You always do. You never seem to understand that your opinion is not 100% right. You are...
It feels a LOT like a conversation with a girlfriend, just keeps going over his own words changing them all the time and trying to have the last word.
I've got myself convinced that eventually he will have to admit he's wrong, but I'm starting to think he'll just get permabanned first lol
I still think it seems daft that you have to open the ecu up and move pins around rather than moving or splicing the loom.
Oh well.
I'm pretty glad I just went for an Omex - the Gen90 doesn't seem all it's meant to be especially with the software issues and being restricted to just 2 (or 1...
Wait. You physically move pins in the ECU connector block???
Isn't that kinda retarded - surely moving pins on the loom block or providing an intermediate loom would be far easier?
^^ That.
I didn't realise it had been fitted to a PH1 previously when I was chatting to Mark. Tell him that
For a PH1 K-Tec make you switch some pins around in the ecu connector block. So those instructions will need reversing to put the pins back into the original PH2 configuration.
WOW
The pedal they provide is a cheap black plastic thing - I have one in my garage you can have for free, it's s**t.
The Ph1 pedal matches the rest and is much better made
I find it insane they'll only sell the mounting plate with a pedal - the mounting plate could be milled out of a...
Can I? Yes. Boosted DC2, or EK9 or DC5 or pretty much anything jap really. Save money on diffs and start with a better chassis and more power. Arguably a megane is also a much better base car - better chassis again than a clio and already boosted to start with so saves you money, more space and...
Yeah - I also wanted to buy the stanced car I posted
I think Clio's make a good basis for both a good looking euro/stanced car and a track car.
I'm not the one that said trying to improve the looks of a Clio was stupid as there are prettier cars out there, while driving around in a stupid...
