Pah. You send me random messages, and by the time I get back to read it, you're offline!
Anyway, stop spamming my threads, else I'll get someone to ban you :quiet:
(and it was: http://www.wwe.com/shows/armageddon/ actually.. not Smackdown :rasp:)
So, one of the major features of Vista SP1 are the "performance increases"
Dunno if it's all in my mind, but it does seem a lot snappier with SP1 on it!
Maybe, just maybe, it'll be usable now! :rasp:
My Antec Sonata can be made quiet.. with the sound proofing etc.. but it's always quite toasty inside (although the 15k SCSI drive doesn't help.. that kicks out a lot of heat)
It'll be very noisy.
Do you mind the noise?
The issue is - noisy == cooler, quiet == hotter.
Just get some really quiet fans.. quiet PSU and you should be OK in a case like the Coolermaster I would have thought?
No matter how long you plan for this, it'll always take longer..
I did a VERY "quick", single cabinet move around the other week. Literally take 3 servers out, turn them on their sides (they were standing up on shelves before), and put them back on their own shelves. It took 3 hours.. and...
80Mb is enough..
20Mb is HD TV. HD DVD content is around 36Mb, so even streaming that sort of content to your 360, the 80Mb will be enough! :)
You'd struggle with high def content over 54Mb wireless anyway.. which is why 802.11n is being used on a lot of HD streamers etc. (like the Apple TV)

We used that stuff at work once, after Wireless was really unstable.
Worked really well (and is still working really well)
I've used and installed lots of Dell servers, and they only have occassional issues but generally very stable. I'd certainly recommend them anyway.
The ClioSport server is a HP DL365 though.. so I dunno what that means? I trust HP more for my own stuff? Heh.
Kind of true, but it's not actually £99 - it's just on offer.
It would be fine for some low end stuff.. £99 is quite basic, so add a 3Y warranty and a raid controller and it's not bad.. certainly good enough for a development server, or something none-critical.
No, it's all rumours - based on screen purchases by Apple etc and what people *think* may be happening.
This Macbook Pro 13.3" thing started before the original Macbook Pro came out - years ago.. Heh.
I doubt it.
*If* it ever does expire, they'll move to another provider.
Apple will always partner someone, just to ensure all features work etc. Visual Voicemail, EDGE (which will be 3G soon anyway), fair use data tariffs.. Apple are very particular about this sort of stuff.
You do - it's exactly the same process as an O2 Store or CPW.
You buy the phone, and walk out. You then sign up to the contract at home using iTunes :)
That's not entirely true.
You don't sign up to a contract when you buy an iPhone - you do it once you get home and plug it all in. The...
After using about every ADSL modem or ADSL router, I'm convinced that this:

... is about as good as it gets for the money. I use them in full no-nat mode with Cisco routers or firewalls behind them, I've used them doing full NAT for the network.. and...
Not quite.. because Old Cup Vs 182 is dependant on lots of factors (driver perception, handling, performance etc.).. a HDMI cable is dependant on whether or not the 1's and 0's can get to the other end of the cable without being lost/corrupt.. nothing more, nothing less.
It either works, or it...
What Tom's saying is, a 42" screen, a 10000" screen, and a 15" screen all displaying the same resolution, is displaying the same information.. screen size is irrelevant.
And, like I've been saying, if a £5 cable works perfectly, a £100,000 cable will display the same. If a £5 is getting...
Oxygen Free is only related to copper cable though.
Either way, my take on it is the same.. if you're doing monster distances, then yes, better cables matter.. as they'll be more resistant to interference.
:)
Because they're long runs.. many many meters.. thats where higher quality cables come into play due to their better interference resistance.
And, more often than not (in BT's case), analogue signals are going down them. :)
But if there's no packet loss?
If there's packet loss, surely the picture would be breaking up, stuttering etc?

It's one of those things where people say it makes a difference, but lots of people say it doesn't.
It's digital at the end of the day.. so if you get no break up, no artifacts on one cable, spending £1000 more on another will probably make no difference.
I think the people who say it...
