Agreed video/DSLR is wrong...and from a Photographers point of view, could have serious impact on the trade.
Cameras are becoming too easy.....
But from my job point of view, it is an excellent idea especially when weight is concerned.

Had a Twinpoint cooper from new a few years back.....
MAJOR rust after 2 years - to the point the bulk head was coming away from the rest of the car.
13 inch wheels went through a set of wheel bearings very quickly.

no "filter" will give you "so much more detail", a Polariser might help with specular reflection.
I would tend to stay away from filters, with the advance of post editing software, save the raw image and work filters onto a second copy.
