I would be too, I don't want another intel one but I have no choice now. I'm still working on Mac No 2 until the replacement comes but the fan is on full blast and sounds like a hairdryer at the moment...

Think I will go for a G5 instead of another iMac... :S Finally after 1hr18 on the phone, they agreed to a replacement. Had to get another iMac as the 17" G5 isn't available any more. Have asked for compensation too... and I intend to get it. and no wonder I've had so much trouble trying...

1hr2 mins on the phone so far and they have yet to agree to a brand new replacement...

Well looks like major hardware failure No 2 for my second iMac...

lol maybe! The crackle, after going on for almost a week, has subsided somewhat overnight so I'll see how it goes... Well, so I kept getting told, they were more reliable :S more secure from viruses and just generally better apparently... granted the screen is amazing compared to say the...

Hmm interesting point, this Mac has been left on for much longer periods of time than the first one I had although I'd still expect it to cope ok!

It's the new iMac. I have the sinking feeling I'm gonna have to f**king faff around sending this back and getting another one, the noise is really getting to be irritating, apart from not being quite right...

I'm unsure I want to just keep getting replacements if I keep getting faulty ones!
