No, the AC22 & AP22 are made by a different company, called Race Technology.
Their site explains how they work >>> http://www.race-technology.com/WebPage2/Products/AP22/AP22Home.htmlhttp://www.race-technology.com/WebPage2/Products/AP22/AP22Home.html
They are very accurate though...
The ride will be firm, but its not that bad... Ive had much worse...
If the car is noticably lower and/or the springs are coloured (not black) then its probably been lowered.
When I went from a 306 Rallye to a 172 Cup I always thought the 306 was better at the top end due to the gear ratios, the Clio would be awesome with an extra cog...
Not totally accurate (Ive used one), an AC22 or AP22 is better, but for the money you cant argue... certainly better than the speedo & stopwatch method...
Why does everyone seem to think having electronic aids like ABS & ESP make you invincible!?
They are as their name suggests "aids" and not miracle workers...
Aye... get practicing on a nice quiet road somewhere before you get there, so youve already got some idea of how to get the best out of the car.
Practice does make perfect and you will get better.
Nope, lightly modded vs lightly modded...
Cup was stripped with a Viper, CTR had a zorst & BMC, with spare out but seats in.
I know yours is faster on terminal.
Ive had both a 172 Cup and a CTR, they both ran the same times (14.5 best) but the CTR has a faster terminal speed, 93mph vs 97mph.
Basically the Clio is better off the line, less weight and no need to get into VTEC first, plus the silly short gearing on the CTR (56mph in 2nd) doesnt help...
Be very impressed if a totally standard one rand 14s out of the box... be low 15s though definate!
This is not stripped or altered from the factory in anyway I mean!

Hardly anything with the Mrss RT!
Had it just over 2 years, its superb on fuel, cheap to insure and been really reliable, hardly had to do anything on it in this time...
p.s. Its also for sale >>>...
Read again... I said the mk1 has a more aggressive power delivery... ;)
Down to the inlet manifold design being changed, the mk1 has slightly less bottom end but is more dramatic when it comes on cam, which I like!
Understeer wise, I was talking about on track mate.
Well 99% of 172 Cups look like this >>>

Basically they are easy to tell apart... unique colour (Mondial Blue) although a few of the later ones were silver, multispoke Speedline Turini alloys, front splitter...
Ive driven both on the track and the Cup is definately the better of the two. On the road the Cup feels better, but the gap is widened on the track, as the mk1s understeer more, the handling & steering isnt quite as sharp, and the gear ratios on the mk1 do not suit the engine characteristics as...
