I disagree... Ive driven both on the track and the mk1 is not as good, as they understeer more and the ratios are not as well suited IMO
The first problem can easily be remedied with a set of Eibach springs!
If youre asking these sort of questions... maybe the V6 aint the car for you...
Everytime Ive borrowed my mates (hes had both a mk1 & mk2) they were doing teens to the gallon and if you really drive them hard its horrific!
However, with that engine note its hard not to thrash them. :oops:
One of the sealed induction systems (Pipercross Viper, BMC CDA, ITG Maxogen, etc) is best for perfomance gains...
I had a Viper on my Cup and there were definate performance improvements, particularly in the mid-range grunt!

A mate of mine has a well tweaked CTR thats stupidly quick and has just invested in an LSD so itll be good to see how he does next season... hell be up at York a couple of times Im sure, but Pod is nearer for him.
Of the 3 Ive run 14s in...
Pug 306 Rallye - Ramair panel filter, no spare & rear seats out - 14.7s @ 92mph
Clio 172 Cup - Pipercross Viper & rear seats out (only 3.5k miles old) - 14.5s @ 93mph
Civic Type-R - BMC CDA & cat-back zorst - 14.5s @ 97mph
The 306 time was a one off best...
It does use the exact same timing system as Pod, and the only discrepencies on times between the two venues are the fact that the start line at York is better suited to road cars, and theres usually a head wind at Pod.
Generally around 0.2secs quicker at York vs Pod, sometimes the same...
However the fact that he does own that car and its not modded, tweaked, etc... plus Ive not made up the "my cousins 700bhp Lancia with NOS does 2.9secs 0-60" like some posts on here was my point... ;)
