So your turbo'd highly tuned car runs better on higher octane.
well I never. Which petrol is 102 in Germany, can't say ive seen any personally?
A Clio 200 would just laugh at nitro+ (if it was 102 Ron, but it isn't)
my car is designed to run on 98, so I wouldn't bother with 102 Ron if it...
Right, so where have people got that its 102 Ron from?
i don't believe it is, I believe this is a name change to fall in line with other markets and to add the 25% extra friction stuff in to make the engine run better.
so I think it's replacing vpower as we know it today.
I think people are...
Lol, I really thought it was good, but the keyboard and autocorrect killed it in the end, something easy to fix though really.
just glad it didn't cost me £800 to find out.
It will be interesting to see what they say about dedupe, the v7000 doesn't have dedupe built in, it uses compression. It can use dedupe with the fastback backup product which dedupes backup data, so not dedupe on live data.
the other interesting thing will be that IBM oem netapp kit and sell...
I'm not confusing anything mate, trust me, I know about this stuff, it's my life at work :)
I was purely talking about exchange as an example of ms removing sis from the product and as an example as to why a San supporting dedupe would be useful in that situation.
i also understand the...
So ive not used the tablet for nearly a week, seems it wasn't a match for the iPad in the end. I'll still use it for meetings where I don't want to take my laptop, but it's certainly not replacing the iPad.
Nice link, but just shows the flaws really, doesn't support virtualisation or SQL, ok, so it's just for file servers then, but only physical ones, ok, who's not moving to (or already has) a virtual setup these days?
the only use I can see for it is a physical backup server (that's all we seem...
It might well do, but it's not great when talking about this tyre of environment, especially when comparing against a netapp San. For a start its only anything over 32kb, netapp works off a 4k block size for dedupe.
Also, lots of rules, can't be the boot volume, or where windows is installed...
the only real sans that support dedupe are EMC and NetApp, EMC has dedupe but only at a file level i think, not very granular anyway, whereas netapp do it at a 4k block level, which is pretty small and so you get a lot more benefit. dedupe runs as a post process, so its not happening at the...
also, 22 esx servers sounds a lot for 120vm's, thats not a very good consolidation ratio, are these servers all in the same location or across multiple locations?
with servers taking 256gb ram upwards these days you can get a lot of vms on a host, the processor very rarely comes into, with 6...
just wrote a long post and then lost it, so angry.
anyway, the os install size shouldn't worry you as you need to move with the times, OS's get bigger as more functionality is added, but you benefit more from the functionality, its also worth thinking about support, 2003 is rather old now and...
yes, the main one people start with is the VCP (vmware certified professional), although theres two of them now, one for datacenter and one for desktops, i have the datacenter one. Then following on from that theres the VCAP which is a advanced one, I'm looking to do that one next, the exam is...
yeah I've tried it on the desktop, i had a different issue then though, its also slower than the metro browser and you have to bring the keyboard onscreen each time by clicking on the icon in the task bar, so not really a decent workaround.
ah the old education licensing, sooooo cheap!
vcenter isn't supported on 2012 yet (as you've probably found out, hence why you're using 2008), although i installed it in my lab the other day and got it to work with vsphere 5.1, requires a reg hack though as they've removed something that was in...
Re: HP Elitepad, iPad retired.
Oh you can, but I want it on and to work, it just doesn't, hardly corrects anything, it's rubbish. The iPad allows me to type really fast and it will sort the mess out, it's very intelligent.
Re: HP Elitepad, iPad retired.
When on the iPad, to do a full stop you just hit the space bar twice and it does one. I find it much quicker as after a full stop you need to press space bar twice anyway to start a new sentence so why not just press the same big bar multiple times.
i like it...
Finally, a decent post, I was reading through this thread pulling my hair out, so much misinformation it's untrue!
you really need to speak to someone about how to do this properly, you're also looking at it all wrong. You shouldn't be worried that the os install is bigger (it always will...
Re: HP Elitepad, iPad retired.
Ipad is back, keyboard and stupid autocorrect did my head in for nighttime browsing infront of the tv.
will leave the elitepad for work stuff, it's better at that.
Re: HP Elitepad, iPad retired.
I still haven't used my ipad, but im starting to lose my temper with the onscreen keyboard. the autocorrect seemed good at first but it seems to have become shocking.
doesn't work very well with this forum either, I cant do a return in a post for some reason and...
Re: Insurance claim advise
oh trust me I investigated it I did a new quote online without the 'claim' and it was the same price as the year before, rang them up and adding the 'claim' increased it that much, they wouldn't reduce it. even though I hadn't claimed, that was the ridiculousness...
Re: Insurance claim advise
well obviously as i won't have to pay my premium unless i have an accident, then i'll have insurance to cover that anyway.
not why i didn't think of it before, i bet someone on here has already done it though.
Re: Insurance claim advise
oh you work for my favourite company.
well FYI, people who don't work for admiral get shafted. they even penalise you for a windscreen claim whereas most other companies don't. for having a non-fault non claim (i didn't even claim) they wanted my insurance to go up...
Re: Insurance claim advise
trust me, from experience, now you've informed them its been recorded. if you are unlucky are are with one of the pikey arsehole companies like the admiral group then they will rape you next year. if however you are with a proper company like direct line you might...
Re: Insurance claim advise
from my experience the best thing to do is not tell the insurance unless its a lot of damage as even if you don't make a claim now, you'll still be shafted next year as it will go down as an incident, event if you don't claim :(
