Re: HP Elitepad, iPad retired.
tbh, until i had a colleague show me how to use the thing properly and take advantage of all the gestures properly, i also didn't find it easy to use, not as pick up as an iPad, but when you're shown the way to use it its very usable.
Re: HP Elitepad, iPad retired.
screen res is great tbh, no complaints there, looks pin sharp, and plays HD MKVs fine as well using VLC.
not sure on the actual res or even the screen size tbh, id say its a little bit bigger than the iPad without knowing the numbers, but it could be slightly...
so i got given a HP Elitepad tablet at work yesterday, needed something a bit smaller for when i don't need to lug my laptop into london, i only really need the laptop because of its serial port, so we had of these elitepads and i thought id give one a go.
Running windows 8, which i thought was...
lets not get hung up on the prices on the websites, no prices have even been set yet so the retailers are just hedging their bets and advertising the games so they can get some pre-sales but need to cover themselves by setting the price high so that it covers costs and telling the customer...
Was that on the llu line though? I have an amazing ping for gaming on O2, not that I really game.
I can't fault the service I've had over the past 3 years, when there's been an outage, they've texted me to let me know, then texted me again when it was fixed, was only down for about an hour I...
Can read about it here
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tech/news/a462511/sky-to-buy-o2-and-be-broadband-and-fixed-line-business.html
as said, O2 want to concentrate on next gen mobile systems, the prices they are charging for broadband now (I've just signed up for £6.25 a month for unlimited 20meg...
Not sure about this, I went with O2 because it was BE and they are known for excellent customer service and speeds and no traffic shaping.
now it will be sky from April time apparently, who also supposedly do unlimited broadband, I hope there's also no traffic shaping in the evenings. Ive been...
you don't expect to be playing games at true 1080p?
the PS4 is going to be 4k (del probably not the first batch of games), with the right tv that will be epic quality, theres a 4k tv in vegas and its like nothing you've ever seen.
exactly, first it was virtualisation, then it was cloud, now its big data, its a new one every year.
amazon cloud has suffered some downtime last year, and when they go down, a lot of people are affected.
We have a cloud platform, so i know all about cloud, don't you worry, its not the answer...
by adding it into the conversation you made it relevant.
i see it as an overused buzzword, its getting boring IMO.
in 6 months there will be something new everyone will be talking about.
indeed, its when you double it that things start to get interesting ;)
im not a massive fan of the term 'big data', its this years cloud buzzword.
People will overuse it so much this year that it'll just get boring, we know data is big, getting bigger and growing exponentially, it always has...
Re: iOS 6.1 is out, Now 6.1.12
Don't waste time doing it, spend a couple of quid on avplayerhd and you can just transfer avi and mkv, even has a built in wireless transfer client so you don't even need iTunes.
Game are accepting pre-order deposits too, I wouldn't put a deposit with them though, you don't even know if they'll be around in 9 months.
At least the announced that they wouldn't be enforcing the always online thing and the blocking of second hand games.
I mentioned about this in the GTA thread, it was very expensive in the ps3 which is why the full compatibility was removed in later versions.
When I bought my ps3, I didn't play a single ps2 game on it, why would I, they looked s**t and there were new games out with better graphics.
New playstation 4 confirmed as not being backwards compatible with older discs, only through a cloud streaming solution, not sure how that will work if you already own the game.
like I said though, we aren't to assume anything will be included......
Re: iOS 6.1 is out
6.1 is breaking iPhone 4s's data, they recommend you don't upgrade
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tech/news/a457550/apple-ios-61-operating-system-affecting-3g-performance-on-iphone-4s.html
id never heard of nutanix but they are coming into us to present next week to try and get us to sell their product. Unfortunately i wont be around to see it, but if we are entertaining the idea of taking them on they must have something to offer.
Tbh, I've got bored of both my ps3 and 360, neither have been on for months, in fact the most action they get is the ps3 comes out of Boxing Day to play singstar and a quiz game when the family are all around instead of a board game.
I just don't have the inclination to play games that much...
That's what they said about widescreen hd flat tv's before ps3 came out ;)
isnt there already. 4k TV available now? I know it's probably the price of a car but give it a couple of years and they'll be popping up. Look how fast 3D tv's sold and they are now available for about £400. Sony have...
