A little bit more to report. I've spent what seems like forever cutting out and starting to replace the footplates for my cage. It's massively tedious work and I'm not the best equipped for metalwork either, so upto now it's been a case of 'cutting something, trying it, bashing with a hammer...

You'll struggle to get to 900kg in a Mk2, that's very light. Maybe completely dry. Never weighed mine. Going by others and my own calcs I'd say about 820 with cage, so probably 780ish without cage.

I've used them all year without fault, wet and dry. For £28 a pop in 195/50/15 they're ideal.
