Re: Mk1 172 Hybrid Track Car Project
He's on his way round here now, so I'll answer...
Standard cams back in as it was never mapped for the Schricks, he's going for an aftermarket ECU in the next few weeks so will be refitting them and mapping to suit.
172 clocks also, with full trip/mpg...
Noticed it a while back when looking for somewhere to take pics, quite a mess now it's all closed. Could do with Renault being there again. Where abouts are you?
Re: Mk1 Hybrid rebuild
Awesome work Nathan/Danny, look forward to seeing this done so I can have a nosey sometime :D
Can I book mine in for a respray sometime soon?!
Longer yep, I'm sure Matteh will have the exact ratios in a spreadsheet somewhere. JB3 ratio's are pretty good though, nice and short. f0xy reliably informs me they do 149 jelly babies GPS at 7.5k. That's plenty me thinks.
Yes, yes it is. I have another bumper in the garage to go on as the one on the car is crap, so I'll get a sticker made up for that one.
I'll be using the current Valver JB3 box for starters, unless a Ph1 172 box comes up cheap enough in the mean time.
Well, the cars final outing with the current 1.8 engine will be a Renaultsport trackday at Cadwell Park on Tuesday. It will be getting death throughout the day, if it dies I'm not too fussed . It'll then be off the road for a short while as it gets some 172 treatment.
Anyway, thought I'd...
A bit more on the engine last night and today. Plenty more painting and a few other bits you'll see too.
Had a Gates cambelt kit turn up from Pete@Auto-Nation the other day, excellent service and great price; highly recommended.
f0xy is stopping by mine on Monday afternoon on the way to...
It doesnt have any in the back, so just fronts. Comes out all of them the same.
Thats what I was assuming, hence taking it out to see, but the plugs were different. I'd imagine the sony is 2004 ish, the JVC I have no idea, older though.
