Audio noob.

  BMW M5 & E36
Right, not really clio related, but the diesel fiesta bus I've just bought to run around in.

I'd assume it has standard front speakers, with an old JVC CD headunit which were fitted when I bought it.

Now my question is, whats the likely cause of it barely going loud enough to be able to hear it when driving, then just distorting like f*ck when I can hear it?

Just poor speakers or would the headunit have an effect on it too? I have another Sony HU that was my brothers, but the connectors are different on the back so I cant try it.

I'd like some music, the sound of diesel doesnt entertain me.

Apologies for noobishness, never had anything other than standard audio in a car before.

is it all speakers?just front?just rear?only 1?your sony should plug straight in to the iso loom, jvc use the same wiring loom as sony if its 01/02 odd onwards depending upon model

It doesnt have any in the back, so just fronts. Comes out all of them the same.

Thats what I was assuming, hence taking it out to see, but the plugs were different. I'd imagine the sony is 2004 ish, the JVC I have no idea, older though.

if its old you may find the jvc has loom, just the standard iso plug, your sony loom will plug directly into the lead in the back of the jvc then you can test it
