I meant 99% of UK drivers - sorry.
There's about 1/3rd of cars on the road today don't have insurance - so I'm just as likely to get hit by a UK pikey in a van with no insurance as I am a Polish guy.
I'm not saying it's totally fine - I'm just saying it's a risk and if people understand the...
Re: Our ring and spa report (3 TF days, 1 trackday at ring, 1 trackday at spa) Pics/V
Epic trip, epic photos - looks like you had a right laugh
Can't wait for my 14day euro trip next year!!
Love the macgyver style fixes to the car too! :D
LMFAO - yeah ok nice response.
Fact is 99% of people there are uninsured when on the ring - I know this. The risk of one of them hitting me is just as high as the risk of me hitting them. I could lose my car just as easy as I could damage someone elses. It's a risk - a risk people understand...
Yep - northloop massively over exagerate it - really does nothing to help get people over there - it just scares most people
I think that's what they prefer though as they're a bunch of elitists who want the ring to be something they can brag about rather than somewhere everyone goes to for a...
That could happen on any track UK or Ring - and 99% of people have no insurance on either
You have your opinion - that's fine - you don't have to ram it down everyone elses throat though. Everyone knows the risks when they go
I've done track days for 2 years and never had a coolant leak or...
That's been on my mind too - the burpspeed blog has been a massive source of inspiration for me and a few friends - but it did occur to me that with so many Clio's now in the series it's a bit easy for everyone to end up with identical cars by just reading a few blogs
I'm gonna be a bit more...
Been there before for a week without any - horror stories are about but people over-react way too much. I did 10+ laps without any drama at all, you just have to know the track and know the limits of your car IMO
Cheers mate - that's fine by me, I'm getting raped by Adrian Fux at the moment...
24-70L is a superb lens - had one for a while, however IMO they're better ranged for a full frame camera such as the 5D - I found it a bit long most of the time.
If you've got the money I always wanted a 16-35mm f2.8L for the close up work and carry around lens, and a 70-200 2.8L for the...
Correct - the standard calipers with DS2500's and brembo HC pads, braided lines - good enough for 90% of track use.
However that setup costs about £250 and you can grab a wilwood setup with new DS2500's and brembo HC discs for £500. I know it's double the money but it's more than double the...
Depends on budget
AST are really good but you're looking at around £1600 for the coilovers
Sub 1k I'd say spax rsx kit, or fk konigsports etc..
Big brake kits there's a few - I've got the wilwood kit that an be supplied by K-Tec or Jamsport
You should be able to find most of the info...
Yeah it cost me about £10k to build - parts all sold 2nd hand if I stripped it for parts are about £6-7k, but I thought i'd be struggling to get £6k for it as a whole
I dunno lads - I love it to bits, properly poured my heart into it but I'm getting really torn by Evo 6's and R33 Skylines -...

LMFAO this thread makes me feel old - people saying they played COD as a child
I lost about 3 years of my life to Mech Commander back in the late 90's
Games these days are nowhere near as addictive - I play COD quite a bit but the original fallout games (1 & 2) I spent literally years...
My cables brand new - I think the throttle linkage was fitted by a r****d though. I noticed a few weeks ago it was actually fowling the manifold when fully open so I adjusted it a bit myself - but it's still too quick to open lower down in the revs.
I wanna swap it over to the other side so...
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Fair enough
If I wanted to get more power out of mine I'd have you or Fred build me an engine - but from a pure reliability thing mines done about 10 full track days and a week at the ring now and it's...
Oh really!!!!
If I could make mine a little bit slower opening at very low rev's I'd be loads happier with it
It's a bit on/off under 2k
Is there any guides on that I can read?
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
The thing is though - do you spend money rebuilding the engine, better rod bolts, blah blah blah to make it a better base for racing - or do you just drive the fucker with 200bhp like you've stolen it and...
Anyone know what time this usually goes on till?
Really wanna go with one of my mates but it's a 2.5hr drive so don't fancy getting up at 6am for it
If we get there 9.30ish will people still be around?
LOL I'm not sure I could go back to driving a standard 172 - would freak me out
I just tend to look a bit like a dick when I go to apply a bit of gas and my head hits the seat lol
Probably doesn't help that my other drive is a 306 hdi - so switching between the two takes some getting used to
Re: James/BigAsh 182 Race Car by TDF... It doesn't get much better than this! *Pic He
Good point
Silent - agreed, mine's done 118k now. 2 or 3 oil changes a year and it still drives better than nearly all the other clio's i've driven. Even the gearbox is on 118k and fine lol. It's why I...
In your shoes unless you really want the noise I'd go cams alone
Some of the cam and remap packages people are doing on here aren't far off the power you get with bodies
Problem with bodies AND cams is you really then need to uprate the engine and you're looking at £4-6k just for 215-220bhp...
