Applying a glaze under any wax or sealant is likely to affect the bond and durability. But some have some only have minimal affect to still give decent durability

Start with your wash technique, diluted g101 as pre wash. This will remove everything including waxes. Wax safe shampoo, wash mitt and two bucket method.
Then decon stage, tar removers, iron removers, then clay. Quick wash or rinse before anything else

Cheap, easy to apply and remove. Decent durability
Not sure I'd want to be applying a paste wax to something that size. Any kind of spray sealant would be a bonus
for pure ease of application and ability to top up in 5minutes should weather allow, maybe consider GTechniq C2 or C1.5. They do help with the self cleaning. granted may not look the best on red but for £10-15 is a viable option.
