why dont you take it to a specialist tyre fitter and get them to check the balance. I had the same problem when I had the tyres replaced, when I took it back, the fitter had forgotten to remove the old balance weights, god knows why this was a problem coz no matter how many weights you have...

My contis still had tread when I replaced them at 9.5k, but the grip had seriously gone from them.

you have to take the rough with the smooth so to speak. You wouldnt have the handling quality if the ride was more compliant, unless youd paid about £50k for a BMW M5. It pi*ses me off a little at times but I always think of the dry weather handling with a big grin on my face! :D
