nit picking now lol
but your never going to blow a speaker but under powering it.
it over driving the amp. (which can be done without clipping if you know what your doing and have a CRO:evil:)
people need to remember the gain is a multiplyer and not some sort of power control
you'd run them as 2 strereo pairs (4 speakers) one off each channel.
if you can bridge an amp into 4 ohms you can run it at 2 ohms(stereo) because bridging into is showing each channel half the load
you need two ohm speakers to run it at two ohms
the big three is
- cable from battery(-) to chassis
- cable from engine to chassis
+ cable from alternator to battery(+)
yeah you can run it in 4 channel into 2 ohms (same loading as being bridged)
i think a big three upgrade is in order then maybe a new batt (highest capacity you can fit measured in Ah)
just bought a new digital camera and it takes both secure digital and multimedia cards.
but which one is better?
they seem to be about the same price so i thought there can't be much in it:S
it might look like a good earth in the boot but might not be( it thought i had a good un but wasn't)
the cable used to connect your batt - to the chassis is really small and can sometimes cause problems
if your alpine gets too hot you will het something like HI TEMP on the display.
i'm guessing you are getting a high volt drop and the amp is cutting out
more than likely a bad earth
also might want to check out the topic called why have RMS and Peak Power?
um i'm not sure if your above post is aimed at me but i do know a fair bit about car audio.
you seem to think i thought current is measured in amplifiers when whai was saying that peak given my amplifier manufactures is peak voltage (might be rail to rail voltage) * peak current
now peak and max are the peak voltage * peak current (in amplifiers)
the problem is they never occur together
RMS (root mean square) is exactly that the square root of the mean(average) squared and is what all normal electrical equipment is measured in
and this is one of my biggest pet hates
volt drop is worked out as v/A/m
so if you want to wack the gain down a bit it should be fine
it will only clip if the gain is set @ a voltage the car produces then it falls below that
