entire door would need to be done for full effect,you need to put something between the speaker and the door panel to make it tight and secure,i use sound deadening carpet to reduce any rattles from speaker to panel between the point of fixation

buying baffles will not increase sound quality,they are designed to bring a speaker out or fit cars where they are 3 point mounting saving purchasing speaker adapters. you want to improve sound quality,get dynamatting to start with

if its old you may find the jvc has loom,just the standard iso plug,your sony loom will plug directly into the lead in the back of the jvc then you can test it

is it all speakers?just front?just rear?only 1?your sony should plug straight in to the iso loom,jvc use the same wiring loom as sony if its 01/02 odd onwards depending upon model
