My 182 FF BG, 70,000 miles 55 plate. Belts were done 4 years ago by JMS, service book wasn't stamped, can't find the receipt (I'll try and find it). They need doing again I guess. Backbox is still original, rusting, a hanger has already fallen off. Boot lid has a dent over the number plate...

Contractors need to be self starters and know their stuff. We recently had someone asking for £450 a day. For that money I would expect them to be at the top of their game with some real depth knowledge. Sadly this is rarely the case and they end up having a very uncomfortable technical interview.

Exactly, whenever it comes to someone changing their own belts the assumption is they have no idea whereas the opposite is usually true. I have seen more horror stories from dealers changing the belts opposed to DIY.
