You've got the permanent and switched 12V feeds the wrong way round.
You need to swap the red and yellow leads, there are normally bullet connectors on your aftermarket harness to allow this.

Yep, sounds like red and yellow are swapped over. Either swapped in the ISO connector, or there will hopefully be some bullet connectors mid line which you could simply swap.

I was looking to do this just to allow easy access to pull the wires out from the back of the HU.
It's not possible I don't believe without dremelling it off, I think it's all one piece.

Adaptor takes its power from a specific socket on the back of the HU (along with its ground etc) and then I think the actual signals are transferred via an audio-jack like plug.

Yep, originally it was a Tuner List radio. The display was working fine previously, there'd been no aftermarket tinkering before this.
I've got the 2 big ISO connectors and the yellow connector that was behind the old HU connected to the stalk...
Got my new X305S today with the APF-D101RE stalk/display adaptor.
Wired in as per the diagram that came with the adaptor, but no action from the stalk and nothing displayed on the screen.
Has anyone put one of these in their Clio?
