Adaptronic is an Austrailian company so that would be a good place to start as i would imagine its available and well priced as it hasnt left the country! A lot of clio turbo conversions use the ECU. If you talked nicely with Andy @ Clioturbo im sure he would kindly let you know which wires to...
I've tried many variatons of studs and nuts over the years to varying degrees of success.
The issue is not parts rattling loose, its the studs stretching from the heat of the turbo. The only proper way around this is to buy inconel studs, which are expensive and only on the shelf in the USA...
Squeeze in a vice to "reset" them. Oil pressure will pump the lifters almost immediately on start up back to there normal position (you'll hear be rattley for a few seconds then quieten completely).
Remove the oil gallery core plugs at the end of the block and use a pry bar to push them out. This is how the machine shop did mine, albeit i didnt see it and the pry bar might be a special DIY concoction of twisted metal, all im saying is drilling isnt the only way to remove them.
I certainly...
What ECU is it on? I've had similar issues in the past, from experience id be inclined to say it is part of the calibration that needs tweeking (slow idle decay), not a mehcanical/electrical fault / vac leak.
The manifold had no studs so i had to put new ones on.
Making more progress now and the "to do" list is getting small and smaller. I have mounted the oil catch tank, spent a fortune on silicone hoses and have just about mocked it all up exactly, its quite a challenge to route 2 x 2.5" pipe runs...
It'll quiten down considerably, i had a Ktec supersports system on my turbo, and it wasnt that loud. Even switching the centre section from silenced to non silenced made little to no difference surprisngly.
A small update, but an update none the less. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter
Got myself an alloy rad and some fans, and set about making some brackets to fit them. I opted for front facing fans that blow through the rad, not because they perform better, purely for...
Sounds identical when cranking to when i first put the F4R in my MK1 >> http://vid133.photobucket.com/albums/q51/laine_16v/Ressurect PNX/MOV00693.mp4
As determind above one of the cylinders will have 0 compression. I am never sure exactly what caused it but i removed the cam cover compressed...
A pathetic update... the wind and rain really halts progress, but had some sunshine today. Built a plate and some brackets allowing the ECU to be mounted over the gearbox mount tray casting, and re routed the wires neartly and sorted out the +12v junction box. Also made an actuator bracket, the...
I ran an ebay tank for a couple of years, no issue with the tank, but the cap would never do up properly and when fully tight you could turn it further and it would click and undo. Was fine with a genuine cap though.
Agreed just take it to Agency, He replaced all synrcos, hubs, selectors, replced 3rd gear and fitted a bolt in 182 diff (to a 172 cup box), for the extremely reasonable sum of £325. Its not worth going anywhere else at those prices, he knows the boxes inside out and even has custom machined...
I was advised not to use them, as there big end machining has been found to be a little oval on ocassions. I went for catcam rods and were assured they were better quality, but it all looks fresh out of China of you ask me anyway.
Yes the project is very much ongoing, albeit very slow progress. I made a few changes (not for the better), but if i hadn't have done i dont think i would see the car on the road until 2016, and i just cant hold my boost craving back that long.
11 months later i now have the engine built and in...
